What users complain about in Smartsheet: Projects & Teams

The app is good, but for me, who uses it every day to send reports to the company and has to upload several photos throughout the day, I really miss the option to send multiple photos in batches. This slows me down a lot and often causes me to make mistakes and upload photos repeatedly, which leads to the next error: I can't delete the photos I upload. Another issue is that the screen doesn't scroll up and show what I've selected when the keyboard opens. Fix all this and I'll give it 5 stars.

Great on desktop, terrible mobile app

The mobile app is constantly loading and crashing. Features are also limited. I’ve integrated Smartsheet into so many things we do at work, but as a portable solution on your phone, it’s extremely unreliable.

Recent update

The new update that happened on the website is awful. Turn it back to 48 hours ago. Get rid of the AI on the top of the screen, it’s literally killing our planet; at the very least let me turn it off. Cant find my sheets anymore. Help button doesn’t work. No way to contact anyone with issues from the website. Terrible update. TERRIBLE.

Account Deletion

They refuse to let you delete your account. Hiding it behind a loop that takes you to their website when you hit the cancel button. And their website that does not load the one page that could delete the account.

Needs more than updates

App is slow, 7 out of every 10 openings, you'll need to close and reopen. Notification count is always off.

Zero Customer Service

The functionality of the tool is good, but I had a simple tech support issue that locked my entire team out of the service and it has been impossible to resolve. Smartsheet support is nonexistent. Circular links, bots that ghost you, phone recordings that direct you to the circular links. Zero response. I suggest against investing time and money into Smartsheet projects and automations when you can easily lose all of that work.

Truly horrid functionality when operating with limited data connection. It tries to auto save after every cell change and completely freezes until that save is complete. It even does this when no data connection is available fully preventing any interaction with the sheet at all. Absolute nightmare to use in any scenario where you don't have a reliable and fast internet connection.

Super slow, always takes a long time to save and often wont save.

Terrible App Function

My app got stuck in a filter and can’t get it to change so I can view other work orders. Useless.

I absolutely hate this app. I don't know how many hours I've spent trying to cancel my subscription. Any e-mails I've sent to the customer support team were just ignored. Impossible to cancel!!!! It's ironic that you have a whole article on how to cancel one's own account, but it's still NOT possible to cancel it. The strategy here is to make the cancellation process so convoluted and time-consuming that the user will just give up and keep paying. This company is a disgrace.

I totally dislike this app. It's not user friendly for finding past reports, even those that have just been created! It's simple to use for initially entering data but impossible to find past entries. For reviewing past references, this is not the app to use. Once you hit "submit", it's history and you'll never see it alive again!

Constantly asking for reviews

Always interrupts workflow to have their user submit a review for their app. Similar to distracting ads.

Not what it used to be!

Not user friendly! Last couple of updates made it glitchy and constantly freeze. Would give it 0 stars if I could.

I operate a single person business. I cannot afford to buy 3 seats and Smartsheet doesn’t offer a single user option that has the features i need. I’ve used Smartsheet for several years now, but effective this month it’s time to say goodbye! Also, the plan is designed to try to attract new users (which I understand), but they make sharing options with non-members difficult and ineffective. I think that they need to rethink the marketing approach of this app.

If you plan to cancel good luck

They make it impossible to get in contact with ANYONE! I used this at my old job with an old work email. No longer have access to this email. I can’t cancel my subscription and I can’t access anything to stop the money from coming out of my account. We used to be reimbursed for the subscription but obviously since I’m not there we don’t get reimbursed. I am opening a complaint with the BBB with how difficult it is to get help from ANYONE with in this company.

Impossible to cancel once you’ve subscribed. And they don’t respond to help requests or contacts.

There REALLY needs to be an option somewhere to set the save of changes to a sheet to happen less frequently instead of after every single change in this mobile app. Like save only when sheet closes or only every 5, 10, 15 minutes or something. It's painful waiting for the save after every click. Feel free to reach out to me if you want info on how I'm using it and why this matters for my use case.

Love but disappointed with individual pro account

I used Smartsheet paid by the company I used to work for and loved it. I am now self employed and wanted to continue using it but was so disappointed when I can only have 10 widgets per dashboard. That’s basically just the titles for each section. I was going to get the Business account but I can’t pay for 3 account users when I’m the sole employee of my business. I wish Smartsheet will make business plan available to individual users as well.

Won’t let you cancel

No matter how many times I’ve tried canceling my account, reached out to customer service and did what they told me multiple times my account is still active and they keep charging me. It’s been almost a year of charges.

Fix it

Whatever you did on the 10/30/25 update it won’t allow android users to open up anything in Smartsheet. The ticket shows up but when you open it there’s no link to open it and input your data. Please fix it soon, it’s vital to our job!

Decent But Basic Options Missing

This works great for basics, but not being able to select more than one column, cell, or row greatly limits the ability to use the app. You’ll be indenting one cell at a time. You can add a column, but you can’t move it, so if you didn’t include it when you created the grid, it will always be at the end, all the way to the right. Because you can’t highlight an entire column or row, or really more than one thing at a time, copy & pasting to reorder can’t happen. Being able to grab the bottom right of the cell and drag the information down or to the side is also not available in the app. You won’t be able to wrap text in the cell either. Using this on my iPad and can’t maneuver without these basic features. On a computer, I prefer SmartSheet over Excel because of all the automation it provides, but there’s too many things missing from the mobile app to be able to use standalone and have to switch to something else.

Basic functionality missing

Crazy to think that basic functionality is missing from the Smartsheet app, like freezing a column. Lots of functionality are available on web browser but not on the phone app.

Criminally poor customer service

I canceled my account six months ago and have received a bill every month since. They are impossible to get a hold of and will do everything in their power not to cancel your account.

Can’t Cancel

You can’t seem to cancel this! If you click on cancel from the app it takes you to a instructions document that tells you to click on cancel from settings and when you do that it takes you right back to this instruction page. I went to go to the chat. It’s not allowing me to type back. I tried to cancel a year ago and then gave up….tried again todsy

Good luck doing any actual work

App is fine if you want to view data, but editing it? LOL… You can’t edit formula cells, can’t edit/change/view cross-sheet references, can’t edit dashboards, can’t edit forms… There’s no point in having this app if you can’t use the CORE functions of this tool. Why on earth can you not edit formulas? I understand not being able to edit dashboards since it’s GUI based, but not being able to edit formula cells? That makes this app completely useless. You can’t even do anything from a browser in desktop view! Until you can at least do formulas, this app is…. Well…. =IF(APP<USELESS, “True”, “Also True”) Value = #UNPARSEABLE

DOESN’T WORK WELL

I received 6 gift cards from here through my work, I claimed them 3-4 weeks ago and still haven’t got them. Tried finding anything to do with a support email or phone number.. doesn’t exist! My higher ups at work told me to my face they don’t know what happened, I never got a confirmation email after I claimed them either. But it said I claimed them online🤷🏽‍♂️ not a fan of this app/system. Has terrible coding and a bunch of gaps everywhere.. I don’t recommend using this app/system.

The App is great BUT

I really like the app and synchronization works well, however it really misses *multi-window support* on the iPad. I can’t believe this is still not implemented after so many years of having that capability on iPads… It’s really frustrating having to go back and forth between sheets all the time. I started using SmartSheets on Safari next to the SmartSheets App to view multiple sheets at the same time. Not a smooth experience. Anyways, please add this feature discussed above. Thanks.

Trying to cancel

This companies customer service is atrocious. It is absolutely impossible to reach anybody by phone and even though you go through the process of canceling, I’ve been getting billed for the last two years. I have done the cancellation process at least six times. My advice is to use a different company. The product itself was good, but it’s not worth the frustration of not being able to reach anybody or cancel your account when your company is no longer in business. The frustration with billing is just not worth it.

Pricing is not transparent

In order to import data you need their data shuttle. Data import is basic and should be on all plans. Could even find pricing for this and had to setup meetings with two different sales and support. I am a sole proprietor and in the end became frustrated and went to click up.

This app is so frustrating

“This is taking longer than expected” is constantly the message I get from Smartsheets whenever I try to access it. Whether I am on data or WiFi even if it’s a strong connection that’s the message I get and it takes several minutes to load, if it even manages to load at all. The interface also is kind of clunky and filtering through different things can be such a pain.

Login fiasco and can’t speak to a human

My contractor uses this app for scheduling and when trying to log in for the first time I ended up creating a new account and now can’t access the account he set up for me. I can’t delete the account, the help button keeps leading me to a solution that does not work and I can’t find any way to access a human to help me out. GARBAGE

App works terrible in the iPad

Tested the app for several months already and the app is very inefficient and does not have the same functionality from the website version, but it’s impossible for me to use the website version in iPad because it brings me back to the poorly working app.

Cannot cancel

I’ve been trying for months to cancel and keep being pushed in circles. Have tried contacting multiple ways and following instructions. Still being billed. Should not be this hard. Seems like a scam

Rewards? Right!

It’s impossible to find where my “rewards” are. This program all looks and sounds good, but is useless as no one explains how it works and how to navigate to access any rewards earned. This is going to be a hard pass if this app isn’t easier to use.

They have a million plus downloads because everyone has to uninstall and reinstall the app because it constantly freezes. I'm forced to reinstall this app weekly because it freezes and won't load sheets. This is an ongoing issue with my coworkers across all platforms. I have written Smartsheets numerous times but they still have not resolved there ongoing issues.

Bad support

For the past eight hours, I’ve been trying to upgrade my plan and the system won’t let me. On top of that trying to reach customer support has been a nightmare. Their system won’t even let me submit a ticket. The worst part is I’ve use this program in the past and I like it but trying to get reestablished has been ridiculous.

Works well but impossible to cancel

It gets 2 stars because it functions very well. However, it’s nearly impossible to cancel when finished using after 1.5 years. That’s infuriating and worth a downgrade. Buyer beware: it’s a great service as long as you’re using it, but make sure you need it long term because it is a monster hassle to cancel.
