Useful, but basic function flawed

Fine, but the list order doesn’t sort properly for dates. If I add a ‘’deadline’ to an existing task, the deadline is displayed by the task but isn’t ordered accordingly. So useless for ensuring all task for a certain day are done. This is basic!

Will be deleting this app

I like how simple the app is but I don’t like that you can’t search anything. Also when you accidentally delete it it’s gone. When I try to find it in trash it’s not in chronological order so they are impossible to find.

CANT BELIEVE THIS HAS TO BE SAID BUT PLEASE ADD THE ABILITY TO ADD A WIDGET TO THE LOCK SCREEN

It’s such an obvious, needed feature. I don’t want to have to open my phone to look at my lists I just want to see them on my lock screen. Other popular to-do apps have this.

Missing search

It’s missing the search option

Moved the + button for no reason

Now I'm sitting like an idiot tapping the bottle middle of the ipad screen where the button was. Muscle memory is strong, and this change is useless

New version is a downgrade

Where is the list of categories that used to be in the lower left hand menu button?- where have they gone with the new version

Right-side button not universally accessible

Left-handed people like myself prefer the “add task” button in the middle where it was accessible. Far right corner is hard to reach with one left hand, and it’s a bad design choice to make it harder for half of your users to make it easier for the other half.

No Longer Efficient for Multiple Lists

I absolutely despise that the little hamburger menu was taken away to flip through the many lists I have. Instead I have to waste more time scrolling side to side instead of picking from a list now. I need to find a new now because this is no longer efficient.

Repeating tasks no longer show up in Google Calendar

There have been 2 updates and this issue still hasn’t been fixed. How do I put in an actual support ticket?

Nowadays, Tasks app isn't working properly. I encountered many times that it is not showing notifications on the time set on a particular time or date. Which is very frustrating. Plus Place a search icon and it'll be the perfect app. One scenario among all is that, I set to disable Amazon Prime Membership's autopay 2 days before, but it didn't gave me the notification. So,please fix the issue, set Tasks notification on priority or whatever so that I along with everyone, don't miss any deadline.

This app is horrible for how important it can be. I set reminders frequently. I set them manually in apps, with voice assistants, and pen and paper. Tasks almost always fails to remind me at the time I set. I get reminders ~16-48 HOURS after I should have got them, at which point the reminder is useless. Would give 0/5 if possible.

The task management experience on this app is severely limited compared to paid apps like Todoist and even free apps like Microsoft Todo/tasks app. The experience is fragmented between the Google Calendar/Gmail apps and the Tasks app. while you can't do certain task management related things on the Gmail/calendar apps like creating subtasks, you can't do many other things like looking at the day view, tasks due the next day or look across categories on the Tasks app.

Overall a pretty good task/list app BUT lacks sharing capabilities. I find this is a major negative point since so many people just need to be able to share lists with other people for organisational purposes. I would definitely use it if not for this point until that happens I'll stick to other task apps that do allow this. Also a good addition would be the use of natural language to program tasks just like todoist.

WTA*? Tasks that are NOT on my calendar, but very old tasks from the past are popping up on my phone. I'm forced to download this app so I can delete these tasks and stop the notifications. I've deleted Google Maps because of your spineless submission to the a$$hat in the WH. I'm using DuckDuck Go whenever possible. These intrusions are unbelievable. As soon as I've finished deletions, this app is going in the can also.

Many important functionality missing, specially considering the integration with other Google apps. Notifications are really nothing one can rely on, either late or even too early but not on time, as one could expect. Notifications have no option to make them louder or so, so they're easy to be missed.

Longtime user frustrated by iOS version

I’ve used Google Tasks for 10+ years, multiple times a day, with 30–40 lists containing everything from daily tasks to personal notes, memories, work information, and even detailed lists of what’s in my storage bins. It’s become an important personal reference system. After switching from Android to iPhone about a year ago, I’ve been extremely frustrated by how limited the iOS version is compared with Android. And now, in the latest update, a particularly useful feature appears to have been removed: the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner that let you quickly see and select from all your lists. With dozens of lists, having to scroll horizontally through them is significantly slower and more cumbersome. I genuinely don’t understand why such a basic and useful feature would be removed. Please bring it back—and please give the iOS version the same functionality as Android. Longtime users like me depend on this app, and it’s frustrating to see it become less useful over time. I’m now being forced to look for something different. Ugg!

Great but wish there was more

I wish there was as option to delete or edit a single task. If there is, it’s not intuitive and it seems like the only option for this is complete the task and add a new one

Absolute garbage

Really bad. Unintuitive. Repeating tasks are trash. Impossible to undo. Really regret getting this app.

Nearly Impossible to find the task that is ACTUALLY due across multiple accounts, and multiple lists, recurring tasks disappear and there's no warning of the next time they are due, so you can't PREP for the next due date. Absolutely useless for managing tasks. HIGHLY disappointing as it would be nice to not have even MORE accounts to have go deal with just for reminders and to do lists.

Please update your app!

1) The Widget is borderline useless especially the square one. The rectangle one isn’t as bad. 2) The UI is bad, old looking, lacks modern appeal. 3) No badge support so you don’t know what’s due unless you use the widget or open the app. It goes in the Notification Center and that’s it. 4) No logic for entry; “Do the laundry at 6 PM on Monday” will literally just write that out instead of adding those times. 5) No voice integration with Siri like Microsoft ToDo and other Reminder/Tasks apps. 6) No meaningful updates. It’s in maintenance mode. Look at the history and you’ll see nothing substantial for years!

Almost useless

Despite this being part of the Google ecosystem just like Google’s other mishap (Keep) it is not a useful tool. You can add some tasks and that’s it. It has Calendar integration (not required tbh). But it doesn’t have any share functionality and I’m not talking about corporate integration but rather if you want to have a shared grocery list with your spouse then you’re screwed. Todoist is better but the paid plan is too expensive for a family organizer. So I guess I’m back to MS To-Do.

Keeps crashing

I used to use this all the time but now I can't even open the app. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still crashes on open. Back to using Apple Reminders I guess

The app keeps crashing without any warnings. I’ve uninstalled, installed and updated the app but I am still unable to open it on my iPhone 11.

Won’t open!!

I have been using this app for a while and really like it, but the past few days every time I try to open it it just crashes. Tried updating and resetting my phone, still no luck. Hopefully this can be figured out!!

Marginal. Insufficiently customizable, consistent or integrated with other GApps. Lacks easy, even limited collaboration. Almost useless for transitioning to a project. Can't link to other GApps files directly, or itself. Doesn't allow directly setting an alarm. May as well be local text mode - but those were far more flexible, accessible, and private. If we use your cloud, make it invaluable and better. Let us view, edit, transform our data flexibly, easily - at least inside your own suite.

Still no badges

Years later still no red badges telling you how many tasks are due or overdue.

The new update 26 is disappointing.

I have 25.26 and it's perfect, snappy. I have similar phone with same iOS and the 26.24 is slow , but they maybe understandable if It requires better phone but the issue is switching google calendar accounts doesn't work when I switch the whole interface page stays blank, have to close the app and reopen to show the switched account calendar. Also the account switching - how are the google accounts now sorted ? It was alphabetic by the account name descriptors. Now they seem to be random. Not happy.

Reorder Lists

No ability to reorder the lists themselves??? Everything else is good. No I do not want to log in from a computer to move my lists. No i do not want to rename my list then move all the tasks to a new list. This seems like a fundamental feature this app is lacking.

Recurring tasks not appearing

Most frustrating rule that “a limited number of upcoming recurring tasks appear at one time on your Calendar grid. As time passes, new tasks appear automatically.” They don’t display in Tasks list either.

Really disappointed

I’ve been using this task manager for a few years now, but recently I noticed that I can’t hear the little “ding” sound anymore when I mark a task as done. It may sound small, but that sound was genuinely motivating for my ADHD brain and made completing tasks feel rewarding. Somehow, I’ve become so fixated on the fact that the sound is gone that I’m struggling to use the tool at all now. I really hope this wasn’t a feature that got removed without fully considering how useful and satisfying it was for some users.

Very basic

As others have already said, this is so basic and lacks key points. The ability to colour code tasks and integrate with google calendar would be nice. Google should be doing better

Bug: recurring tasks don’t show

App is deleted all of a sudden and all my tasks are gone!!!’

Reminders are annoying

Pointless to show old reminders again and again just because you forget to mark it complete I miss google keep. Hate what they did with the integration.

Bad design

The widget is ugly and useless, it doesn’t even have checkbox, just texts

Lacking features

Would be good, except it lacks simple features such as being able to move tasks between lists, or reordering lists.

Make sure you reopen the app after any update, or you WILL NOT get your notifications

Let’s make this app better!

The app itself is good, but it still needs improvement. I really wish it offered more widget size options and an interactive widget, so we could check tasks directly from the Home Screen without opening the app. It would also be great to have a countdown feature that shows how many days are left before a task’s due date. These small changes would make the app much more practical and user-friendly.

App does not work.

App keeps crashing when I use it, and the mobile app keyboard is often missing. I now use the reliable Apple Reminders app.
