Don’t get this app

Who among us are willing to pay a subscription for some brain dead basic functions on editing documents? It’s a huge scam. $13/week is an unreasonable price that they’re hoping you agree to and forget about. Instant delete.

Can’t cancel

I got this because I thought I needed it for a legal document. It turns out that I didn’t. I’ve been trying for a half an hour to cancel it, and I just can’t seem to. I’m not paying for this. I’ve never used it. I’ve only had it two hours.

Scammed me

I have just installed it, I subscribed for 7 days access which was £0.49 and then it auto renews for £9.99 a week. I thought, I would just get the 7 days access because I only needed it temporarily just to scan and send a few documents, however it charged me £9.99 straightaway on the first payment. It is literally a scam.

After several request and even blocking a removing my card the continued to try to change for a service I removed.

The new update sucks - scanning from camera takes pictures way to fast and I can’t edit the capture area after taking the photo anymore

Crash

I was looking for a software to be able scan a historic book, 168 pages in length. Once all the spreads were scanned. The wheel began to spin while processing the file and then the app crashed loosing all pages.

Watch out

I downloaded this as a trial then deleted it. Didn’t receive any notifications from them or Apple that I was now on a £9.99 per week subscription!!!! Shocking

Make this Transparent the app is NOT free. You lose so much goodwill by not making this clear. :-( In reply to the developers comment: the app is useless if you cannot download or save the changes made. Don’t waste user’s time - make it crystal clear it really isn’t free.

Their scanner sucks and they charge 10$ dollars weekly while making the unsubscribing process hard. Lost over 30$ or so because I thought I had unsubscribed.

Not worth the money

I wanted to convert my notes from a notebook into a text format on my phone but when I used ScanShot to scan it came out with a jumbled mess where I had to edit almost everything. I payed a year subscription because I read the high reviews and felt confident that I was signing up with an app that could give me what I wanted but instead I was met with disappointment. In the time it took me to edit their version of my notes I could’ve just typed it into my notes app. Not worth the money at all

Does not give accurate information on old cursive writing and text on old documents I will be deleting and haven’t downloaded this app not even an entire three minutes it’s useless.

False advertisement

I was told this would be a 1 week free trial and it was canceled immediate after purchase because it didn’t do what I needed. I’ve been charged $9.99 even though it was canceled within 5 mins of purchase of the trial.

DON’T GET

I downloaded this app for a quick one time use and had to pay to be able to use the actual features of the app. I paid a one time fee of 0.49. However, about a week later I saw that the app charged me 9.99 I tried to cancel my subscription within the app but there is no way to do so, so I deleted the app but they STILL continued to charge me weekly. The only way to cancel is through your App Store. I have filed a complaint with apple and requested a refund, hopefully money is returned and this app banned for being predatory and fraudulent.

Misleading app

It is not free. They trap you once you scan the document and only then you have to pay to export it or do with it what you want. So low so cheap approach. Apple shouldn’t let you sell your so called free app.

Subscription Cancellation

I am trying to cancel my subscription as I do not want the app after trialling it, but in the settings it doesn’t allow you to cancel it like other apps, only gives you the option of upgrading. Now worried I am going to be charged at the end of my trial and lose money! Please can someone get back to my email regarding cancelling this subscription as this extremely misleading as it states you can cancel subscription in the settings on the app but you can’t!!

Waste of Time

You can’t do anything with this app for free except scan the photo. Beyond that it tries to make you pay for the subscription, even just to save the photo on your phone. Ridiculous!

Scam!!!

Charges you $9.99 weekly without you knowing. First, this app should be completely free from the reviews I’m seeing; however, they charge $9.99 weekly. I’m not even sure how I got subscribed because I didn’t purchase or consent to being charged and it automatically connected to my card after downloading the app. I would never pay for a PDF scanner. SCAM!!!

APP CHARGED ME TWICE!

THIS APP USED TO BE GREAT. HONESTLY IT STILL IS. BUT IT DOUBLED IN PRICE AND I HAD NO IDEA. JUST SAW MY RECEIPTS AND IT CHARGED ME TWICE FOR THIS MONTH. MY BILL FOR THIS MONTH WAS $30 FOR THIS APP. BE CAREFUL

I only got it because I was looking for a free scanner to make a picture into a PDF. This came up because it said it was free allowed me to scan and then as soon as I tried to save it or email it it wanted me to pay not cool to label it as free even a little bit.

Super annoying when you download an app, that should definitely be free and does not indicate otherwise and then you go through the process of scanning a document and then at the end of course they want you to pay to be able to export it. Avoid The developer responded to me saying “Our app allows you to use all scanning, editing, and document viewing features for free. Subscriptions are only required for downloading scanned documents. “ This should be pretty obvious to everyone else except for you, but scanning, editing, and document viewing is useless if you cannot download the document at the end. Hope this helps ❤️‍🔥

Charged unaware $9.99 each week for MONTHS!!

Beware of this app! What you might think is a useful one-time purchase will actually become a stealthy weekly charge! I used this app one time to make a PDF and have since been charged hundreds of dollars in reoccurring charges disguised as an Apple.com bill. Not worth the price AT ALL to make two, barely satisfactory PDF’s from a couple photos. RIDICULOUS!!!

Terrible

I continue to be charged an ongoing weekly fee of $9.99 for 2 years now after several requests to cancel the service. I have deleted the ONE SINGLE document I scanned 2 years ago and no longer need. I deleted the app. I sent emails to request this cease with no reply. I assume there will be a lawsuit at some point for invalid charges. Update - the response was to cancel through Google Play which my subscription is not set up through. They continue to not allow the ability to cancel directly on the application. Only the option to update the subscription terms. Surely there is a class action for this deceptive practice. I would NOT recommend you use this app as they will hold you hostage at a higher rate and not cancel upon request.

Too expensive

A really good tool, But £9.99 a week is a complete rip off and I couldn’t get my money back. Not happy

Charges the monthly fee for each use

It does do the job as described but since I carelessly scanned only 2 pages instead of 3, I needed to use it a second time. Charged the monthly fee BOTH TIMES 🤬

Unhelpful

It doesn’t cost the app anything to export a pdf. They don’t mark it as a paid download. It was frustrating that I downloaded it up loaded my document only to not be able to do anything.

Free app until you need to use it for anything

Absolute garbage, you can edit a pdf all you want, but must pay for the subscription before exporting it anywhere. Waste of time.

Disappointed

Needed an urgent scan so chose the trial option. Attorney said scan looked like a photo and unacceptable. Silly me, didn’t read the fine print and I automatically got charged a further £9.99/week before I realised I needed to cancel. Buyers beware

Laughably bad.

I wish I could upload a screenshot of how low quality of a pdf this converted a .jpg too. It looks like something drawn using Minecraft blocks. If I could give fewer than 1 star I would.

The app makes you waste 10 minutes getting and configuring it right up to the point when you want to do something then it says Oh BTW it will cost you $$$ - I despise when they do this!

Have tried to delete- still charges $10.76 every week! I’m going broke!!!
