Recruiting text bloatware?!

Why is it that I pay a subscription for a time-clock/scheduling software, that then actively attempts (by sending annoying texts of other job openings) to get my employees to leave my company?!!!

The apps fine could be better, I’m always being logged out and then when I try to request a code it NEVER comes… how am I supposed to chat with a bot and it keeps giving me the same prompts.. I need a solution not a chat bot Kinda tired of always having to relog in

The same bug issues

I like this app I really do I’ve used it for two jobs now but both times half a year ago and now every single time I try updating my availability my phone slows down like crazy and then it shuts my phone off completely so I can never file a new availability request. Even with the app updated it never stops doing this and I have no idea why. I really wish I could have help with this.

Never lets me clock out, app is flawed and has bugs. Can I give half a star?

Misleading Free Tier

The free tier is misleading, and you don’t find out until after you’ve already signed up, set up everything in the app, and the free trial runs out. The free tier is supposedly “free for up to 10 employees”, and they advertise “basic time tracking” as included in the free tier. They make it look like the app is part of the free tier, but it’s really not, at least not in any meaningful way. It even says above that you can use the time clock from any phone or tablet. HOWEVER, the time clock is NOT available in the app on the free tier. It is only available on the web or tablet, which doesn’t work for my setup. I literally only have ONE employee and need the app to allow this employee to clock in and out, that’s it! And the free tier won’t even let me do that. Very misleading advertising about the free tier. I would be willing to pay a one time fee for use of the app, but I’m not paying $30 each month for basic clock in/out service.

Good but could be streamlined

We use this for about 45-65 employees depending on peak season. I really wish the phone/app version would show how many hours people are scheduled for the week. When I am trying to approve trades, covers, etc. I have to either wait till I’m at work or at home (with access to a computer) to process requests. Even if they put in the request section something similar to “Sally is scheduled 28 hours accepting this trade will put her at 32” would help. I also wish if you clicked on an employees name it brought you to a dashboard that has their schedule for the week, all of their time off requests, and availability. Otherwise, homebase makes schedule writing pretty easy with the freedom to add different role titles and create your own schedule templates that you can just apply to each week. It’s easy to just click and drag the shifts to people. While making a new schedule it clearly shows days that are requested off, times unavailable, and even preferred times.

GARBAGE APP

This has to be created by the same people that created cubicles. Having to conform I mean confirm EVERY ACTION has been a nightmare! It has resulted in missed paychecks, missed clock ins, outs and mealtimes. Not to mention the annual cost. It only wants me to take 30 minute lunches then brow beats me every minute until I clock back in but you have to be at the shop if I’m in the field there’s no recourse for that creating more work for everyone else.

Find cover button is not working

I’m trying to find a cover for my shift, and the cover button will not work. I pressed it and it shows I pressed it, but nothing else happens.

Much better options to help you run your business!

Support was extremely slow and not helpful. At all. The lay out could be much more clear and organized. It feels like there’s 10 folders within a section, but there’s also more sections within those. For what it has to offer, there’s more dynamic options that also allow you to write your schedule in app and even compare sales and see them real time. We considered home base as an option, created accounts to test it out, and it’s been extremely difficult to delete and edit our accounts. (As in delete them bc we don’t need them) Boo Homebase.

Garbage

Stay away from this app. They constantly changing stuff, leaving functions out that you're use too, as of now can't see even employees hours on decimal time or industrial time format. They just took it out with a new update just like that.

Cash out

Cash out worked but the customer service is rude af. Regenlyn was so rude to me and theyre so many discrepancies in the amounts they charge and they amounts they give you. I started using them in august .. they tried to charge me talking about something about July .. thats giving scam to me.. i never even heard of them in July.

Terrible cash out choices

Does not support Cash App PayPal or any bank that has no transactions from when you were unemployed. Pathetic. I wouldn’t even give it one star but that’s the lowest rating that I’m allowed to give. I only give it about half a star.

WHY THE UI CHANGE. WITH EVERY UPDATE THIS APP GETS HARDER AND HARDER TO USE.

Absolutely bogus why did you change the UI? Every time I learn the UI, you guys literally change it and it’s ridiculous I can’t see the dates on my time cards from the main screen. I have to individually click on each one of them, and then in the very smallest tiniest print in the top left corner there it is it says the date. When before it was very clear, which date just by looking at all of the time cards at once Also, when I go to add a time card now while I’m already selected under a specific employee’s name, I didn’t have to re-add their name to the new time card I don’t understand why all of the changes the app is way harder to use now and way more complicated Please fix it!

New update is garbage

Removed the ability to see the number of hours worked per shift. Employees now need to successfully do the math to figure out total hours worked. Totally pointless for us to keep paying for this

updating unavailability has a weird glitch and it's annoying

Whenever I add new unavailability and I want to edit it or add another new unavailability after making one, the app doesn't allow me. There no feedback to tapping on either “add new” or the day of the week. Instead, I have to go all the way to the schedule and remake my entire unavailability request. Please fix this glitch!!

Hate the update!

I hate the update! I can’t see the date that employees work easily anymore-have to click into each individual entry-terrible layout

Bad Calendar Sync

2026 and a shift management app can’t even sync with Google Calendar…

It was fine for a while, but now I can't use the damn thing because a pop up about messages keeps coming up that you can't get rid of. So I can't use any of the features because of this stupid pop up. Good luck trying to use this and having support help fix their terrible programming. However they did reach out and help me solve the issue, so that really helps. So at least give them a chance.

It will only open once

This app only open once for me every time I download it. After that, it’s just a white screen with a spinning downloading circle, and it will not open. It could spin for hours. I’m not sure why, but it’s very frustrating. Nobody can get a hold of me on it. I can’t login to do what I need to do. I can’t log in and out on it.

Horrible

Horrible customer service the cash out option should just not be there anymore if u wanna leave people poor for the week

Used to be great.

Homebase had gone downhill. The availability function works only when it wants to. Switching locations works if you cross your fingers. The cashout integration hasn’t worked on iPhones in 2 weeks and support ghosts you. Started my trial with another app.

New update sucks

The new update on the earnings section is terrible the old earnings section was way better and way easier to understand.

Glitchy

This app takes forever to open and whenever it FINALLY opens and I try to request time off it will glitch- the screen will go black- and my phone will stop for several seconds. Most annoying app I’ve ever had to use.

iOS cashout error

So I haven’t been able to use the cashout feature for the last week and a half. Support had me uninstall and reinstall the app twice which didn’t work, then told me it was an issue that was being investigated, then told me it was an issue with iOS users. When I informed them that my fiance has an iOS device and cashed out perfectly fine, they said that it only affected some users and didn’t know when a fix would be available. Do better please. That cash out service is invaluable to lower income people.

Functionality broken

Switching between locations no longer works. When choosing from the dropdown at the top the location doesn’t switch. If I close the app and reopen the newly selected location loads. This is on an iPhone pro max 15 fully patched. Also when editing someone’s time card, the time is half off the bottom of the screen and isn’t readable until a new selection is made.

AI USAGE

i use this app for my work & had an agreement pop up that included AI making the schedule—business owner later will approve. This is so lazy and outrageous. I do not want AI creating my work schedule. If I deny the agreement, it logs me out.

Terrible

I have to restart the app sometimes 4 times before anything loads, often making our employees late for work. Any button you press on the app to go to a new page reverts you to the previous page then you have to hit the button again. At the end of every shift it asks “why didn’t you take this break?” When there was no break required, even if the employee has already taken a break. You work 10 minutes and it tells you to take a lunch break. If you try to clock in even 15 seconds early it tells you you need a manager to approve. It’s a very poor app

Progressively getting worse.

First, During 24’ the celebrations in Homebase was a useful tool to highlight the significance our peers and now its such a boring part of the app. What is the point of removing the celebrations emblems and clean UI it once had to replace it with a garbage UI and soulless chat. At that point just remove celebrations… Second, WHERE ARE MY SHIFT BUDDIES! That was an important piece for Homebase because I could see the crew who would be working that day to inform other people from work who were going to be insight. We need shift buddies back!

Poor connection quality

This app is ok. But the feature to cash out is amazing but….. it has NOT BEEN WORKING. Contacted support and they say it’s on Apple phones, the androids are working fine. I need my money… now! Fix it!

Easy, but has bugs

The managing availability part of the app refuses to work, super slow to load app and usually have to restart app few times before it responds.

pointless app

in the beginning, I used to be able to see everyone's schedule for the whole week.. as it updated, I can't see who's working when and what time anymore, it won't show anything other than my own schedule.. how am I supposed to know if I will be working by myself all day long? what if I need to trade a shift? how am I gonna know who's coming in? the more this app updates, the less sense it makes

Useless support

I can’t do a cash out because the debit card on file expired and when I try to update it, the app just freezes. Support was useless. Do better

Feels like a breach of privacy and horrible loading time

It’s weird how they track your checking account and try to predict your bills. I don’t like how they try to get you to take out loans either. Feels shady. The app is doing too much. Just do what you need to do with the scheduling and payroll and move on. Plus, it takes like 3 minutes to boot up. I never clock in on time because I have to wait for the app to launch. Terrible app.

Misleading

Makes it seem like basic things are free but when you try to clock in from the app it’s locked behind a paywall. This has to be a joke. You can’t even clock in for free. So the free plan is useless. And of course you don’t find this out until the very end after you’ve wasted time setting it up.

Constant “Loading” Screen When Returning From Closing App

I’ve seen at least one other reviewer mention this. For the past couple of months, there has been an issue in which the app gets stuck in a perpetual “Loading” screen if you close the app while still logged in. The issue does not occur if you log out before closing. Support is virtually useless, as I contacted and was told I would have to contact my manager to then contact Homebase to resolve the issue. Really? The Homebase support team’s response on the other review about this indicated that this issue had not been reported previously which, of course, is not true considering I did just that as I mentioned here.

Tries to force push notifications

App consistently opens a window asking you to update push notifications on startup. You have to opt OUT of them. Trash. Give me a “do not show this message again” box. I don’t want push notifications from my job. Deleting this app and forcing my boss to send me my schedule now over email. Do better

Would not recommend

This is a frustrating and buggy product. When we were deciding whether or not to purchase this software for our team, we were promised a bunch of features by the sales rep. After we signed up, those features have never been delivered. Basic things like calendar syncing and time reports we are now told are impossible. Would suggest going with a different product.

Trojan horse

Caused my device to crash multiple times when trying to set up the app after installation. 🚩
