Feb 6- Apr 2","body":"I feel proud of myself! Wanted to make a before and after:)\n\nI know a lot about skincare (hyperfixation), but I quit doing my skincare for about a year and 1/2 as I got lazy. When I started working in healthcare, sweat and oil started to break me out. When I started to develop facial hair on my cheeks and neck, it got to a point I could no longer accept now that I am searching for a huzz and need to look presentable.\n\nFor reference, I am 18yo, male, with oily-acne prone skin and developing hair follicules.\n\nRoutine:\n\nNights:\n\n\\-1: Exfoliation\n\n\\-2: Adapalene\n\n\\-3: Adapalene\n\n\\-4: Barrier (no actives)\n\n\\-Repeat\n\nAM:\n\n\\-Bioderma Sébium Gel Moussant Cleanser\n\n\\-Peach Slices Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner\n\n\\-Good Molecules 10% Azelaic Acid Serum in the nasolabial folds for Seb Derm\n\n\\-Skin1004 Centella Ampoule\n\n\\-Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum SPF 50\n\n\\-Supergoop Tinted Resetting Powder SPF 35\n\nPM:\n\n\\-Mixsoon Bean Cleansing Oil\n\n\\-Bioderma Sébium Gel Moussant Cleanser\n\n\\-Nizoral 1% Ketoconazol Shampoo in the nasolabial folds for Seb Derm\n\n\\-Peach Slices Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner\n\n\\-Bubble Super Clear SA 2% Serum (Exfoliation Night)\n\n\\-Skin1004 Centella Ampoule\n\n\\- Adapalene Gel 0.1% (Adapalene Nights)\n\n\\-Light layer of Skin1004 Centella Ampoule over Adapalene on adapalene nights\n\n\\-Roundlab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cream\n\nEvery once in a while, especially if I had a stressful and hot night at work I will use a clay mask to absorb excess oil/sebum, as work nights tend to give me breakouts.\n\nFor those who are entering skincare, my best pieces of advice are to:\n\n1: Buy products from stores like TJ Maxx from reputable brands to save money. Make sure that the products you select are ones that will help you reach your goals with the concerns you have. If there are no stores like this available, affordable products from drugstores or Walmart can be simple (a good thing) and just as or more effective than big name brands at Sephora or fancy websites.\n\n2: Use ChatGPT. I know a lot about skincare, but even I will use ChatGPT to evaluate products on how good they are for my skin type. If you are a beginner, ChatGPT is amazing for helping to set up or tweak a routine at any price point. It can help you learn a lot about active ingredients, compare products, etc. It’s very easy to snap a picture in store of a product and ask it to evaluate it. It acts like a personal skin consultant and it is amazing.\n\n3: Do it daily for about 4 weeks despite your motivation levels. After four weeks, it becomes a habit and it makes it easier to decide to do your skincare than to not. (Strengthened neural pathways associated with your routine)\n\n4: Refrain from overdoing actives. It is painful to have a messed up skin barrier, breaks you out, and makes life miserable. Sophomore year I gave myself awful retinol burn and my skin was bright red for days. Even waking up with leaky eyes hurt like hell.\n\n5: Lastly and most importantly, Do NOT give up if you start to break out even more in the first couple weeks. Skin purges as it adjusts to a new routine. It is way more likely that your skin is having ‘growing pains’ than an indication that your products are bad.","offTopic":true},{"id":"afac424f-2326-48c2-9650-dcc95a2c41cc","excerpt":"Help a beginner build a skincare routine — I’m a 22 years old guy who recently started taking his first steps into the world of skincare and honestly, it’s been a bit stressful trying to figure out what actually could work for me.\n\nFor now, I’m planning on keeping it simple:\n\n**AM:**\n\n* Cleanser\n* Moisturizer\n* Sunscre","url":"https://www.reddit.com/r/EuroSkincare/comments/1ovie17/help_a_beginner_build_a_skincare_routine/","role":"request","weight":0.97721034,"occurredAt":"2025-11-12T21:39:48.000Z","sourceKey":"reddit","sourceName":"Reddit","credibility":0.62,"venue":"EuroSkincare","intent":"problem_report","painScore":0.24,"sentiment":0.33333334,"confidence":0.7880729,"matchedPatterns":["frustrating","praise"],"statement":"The search has become kind of exhausting and honestly, it’s starting to make skincare feel frustrating instead of fun.","title":"Help a beginner build a skincare routine","body":"I’m a 22 years old guy who recently started taking his first steps into the world of skincare and honestly, it’s been a bit stressful trying to figure out what actually could work for me.\n\nFor now, I’m planning on keeping it simple:\n\n**AM:**\n\n* Cleanser\n* Moisturizer\n* Sunscreen\n\n**PM:**\n\n* Cleanser\n* Retinol\n* Moisturizer\n\nGetting into such a huge world with so many different products has been overwhelming. For the past 5 weeks, I’ve been using the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, and just a few days ago I added the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion (with SPF 50). \n\nThe main reason I’m here asking for advice is the cost (17.90€ for 473ml of cleanser was fine, but 18.90€ for just 50ml of moisturizer feels a bit much). Also, I haven’t really seen any major changes in my skin, no improvement, but no irritation either.\n\nI’ve read in several threads here that there are better and/or more affordable European brands out there, so I’d love it if you could recommend me some specific brands (or, even better, products). The search has become kind of exhausting and honestly, it’s starting to make skincare feel frustrating instead of fun. Any suggestions? Looking for some alternatives that are more cost-effective.","body":"Hello, here’s my current skin care routine, which is made a huge difference. My skin was so dry before and now I’m starting to get the dewy look. I looked into the Korean skin care routine. I’m not sure if this is the exact way you should do it but so far it’s working good . I wanted to give a breakdown on each product and how I use it. Now, I’m not always perfect doing it everyday/night and sometimes end up going to sleep without washing my makeup off my face, but I’ve been trying to be better about that. \n\nI do have a couple of questions and would love your opinions on possibly finding more affordable alternative to the oil and face wash since those are about $50 each. I’m also undecided if I’ll continue with the OC moisturizer or I may keep it for the daytime and find a different nighttime moisturizer. Any comments, suggestions tips or tricks on my skin care routine please feel free to share with me because this is a new process for me. It seems like a lot of steps, but it has been worth it. I think my husband has a picture of me looking down in a glass and drinking you can see the lines pretty bad on my forehead. They have gotten better. I’m gonna go back to the same restaurant and do the same exact picture and see what the difference is when I do that, I’ll make a post. That’s the only picture I can think of that. I can do a comparison on the improvement on my skin. Also, the redness in my skin has practically disappeared. I used to have very rosy cheeks, possibly rosacea. I’m not sure, but it has calmed down a lot.\n\nClinique exfoliating scrub- it’s gentle. I use it a few times a week and does not irritate my skin.\n\nOsea ocean wave-this is the biggest change. I use the oil cleanser before my regular cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling very soft.\n\nOsea ocean cleanser- after I wash my face with the oil base cleanser, I use this. My skin still stays soft from the oil base cleanser, and my skin feels very clean. I previously used Clinique all about clean foaming cleanser. I’m debating whether or not to go back to that and use a oil base cleanser before that.. \n\nAnis 70+ rice 70 + ceramide glow milky toner-I put this on as soon as I get out of the shower while my face is still moist\n\nReal Complexiom Hyalurom Skin Essence-after my toner is soaked then I apply the essence and let it set for a little bit. \n\nOsea Ocean Eyes-I put this on after applying the toner in essence. I’ve noticed the circles under my eyes have practically vanished.. \n\nClinique moisture surge active glow serum-after my essence has soaked into my skin. I apply the serum so far I like how it makes my skin feel and is a good base before I use my moisturizer.\n\nOsea probiotic water cream-I’ve been using this as my moisturizer for day and night. \n\nAlso, of course, I apply a mineral based sunscreen. I either go without makeup or use makeup. Now that I’ve been doing the skincare routine and use make up The make up seems to sit on my skin much better.\n\nThanks again if you made it this far and again, if you have any suggestions for an oil cleanser than a cleanser that would be great. Also, any other suggestion suggestions on a product I’m already using and that you’ve had good experience with.","offTopic":false},{"id":"e05ac119-1821-4df3-b42e-335401c837e7","excerpt":"Please help me fix my skincare routine please — I’m 21M with normal to oily skin & pretty new to skincare and would really appreciate some advice on which product to choose and how to properly use them \nAlso, Letme know whether I’m missing anything important or or if any of these products aren’t worth using. i m open ","url":"https://www.reddit.com/r/PakistaniSkincare/comments/1vte9yc/please_help_me_fix_my_skincare_routine_please/","role":"pain","weight":0.8666384,"occurredAt":"2026-08-20T09:10:35.000Z","sourceKey":"reddit","sourceName":"Reddit","credibility":0.62,"venue":"PakistaniSkincare","intent":"feature_request","painScore":0.56,"sentiment":-0.5,"confidence":0.55553746,"matchedPatterns":["missing_feature"],"statement":"I’m 21M with normal to oily skin & pretty new to skincare and would really appreciate some advice on which product to choose and how to properly use them Also, Letme know whether I’m missing anything important or or if any of these product…","title":"Please help me fix my skincare routine please","body":"I’m 21M with normal to oily skin & pretty new to skincare and would really appreciate some advice on which product to choose and how to properly use them \nAlso, Letme know whether I’m missing anything important or or if any of these products aren’t worth using. i m open to recommendations for any product, so feel free to suggest better alternatives\n\nMy future plan looks like:\n\n* Bio One Glycolic Acid Toner 7%\n* Possible Gentle Cleanser/ Facewash\n* Possible Sun Solution/ Neobrella SunBlock/ U-Veil Sunscreen/ Sunbrella Sunscreen\n* HydroPhil Moisturizer - Open for recommendations for Moisturizer\n\ni’m mainly trying to improve my overall skin health and deal with tanning or uneven skin tone.
