With every update, I keep hoping they will fix some of the many glitches but instead, it seems like instead a new one gets added. Here are all the issues I'm currently having: \n1. If I highlight a paragraph of text, random words and letters switch around, leaving sentences garbled and illegible. \n2. Formatting: If I bold or highlight a word or a phrase, sometimes the whole sentence will change. I then have to manually fix that, and sometimes the formatting will revert to being messed up or will simply disappear. \n3. Additionally, if I bold something, there is now a huge space that appears between that line and the one above it. This update ruined the format of some of my other notes, and looks terrible when I try to export notes with typing as a PDF. \n4. When editing a text box, the formatting button appears in the middle of the box and blocks text I'm actively trying to edit. It only goes away if I resize the box so it moves. Not a huge deal but annoying. \n5. Crashes constantly, multiple times a day. If I had a dollar for every time this app crashed, I could pay off my student loans. \n\nI'm very close to switching to another app and would not recommend this app to anyone. A friend of mine recently started school and I had to warn her about how terrible this app has become. Don't get invested like I am, where most of my notes are on this absolute nightmare of an app (that I pay for). Save your money and go elsewhere.\n\nUpdated Review: Updated my app as recommended, still all the same issues as always no fixes. They introduce a bunch of new features but don't do anything to make the basic features of the app usable. Don't waste your time putting your notes in this app and spend ages with formatting and dealing with constant crashes when you could spend that time studying.","authorHash":"6466f3fc24761380a3ffddee332e8920","rating":1,"offTopic":false},{"id":"a482303a-b11a-42d5-ae2d-a65147934ee8","excerpt":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — New Update Ruined It — This new update is terrible. I have no idea when notability changed but this newest update is absolutely terrible.\n\n1. When I airdrop my notes from my computer, it no longer has the option to open up immediately into notability, it makes me go to a preview and from there I have to import into notability. Just a waste of time.\n\n2. Notability took the feature away that the most recent pen colors and highlighter colors could all be clustered at the top as a quick shortcut. I’m always going in between highlighters and my pencil so this is very inconvenient now that I have to click back and forth between pencil and highlighter and then also click the color I want. Again, a waste of time. \n\n3. The most concerning thing is that my notes are taking FOREVER TO LOAD! The other day they completely disappeared and then loaded again an hour later but it gave me so much anxiety. Idk why my notes are “loading” but prior to updating, I never once had to wait for them to load, they were just there! If you click the corner of an image, it just grabs it and moves it around. What the heck Notability? How could you break such a simple thing. In fact, your release notes say you actually improved image resizing, but nope…\n\nFor an app that charges quite a bit for what it boasts to provide, the level of incompetence of the developers to avoid crashes multiple times a day and meet simple user feedback spanning years is incredulous.\n\nRequests enumerated throughout forums online include, most critically: stability improvements. How they’ve gone so far in AI integration while still lacking basic stability is beyond reproach. \n\nInfinite paper: while they’ve said this is understandably difficult to integrate, it’s been a top request of dedicated users for years! Instead users have to resort to other apps for this feature.\n\n“Keep downloaded” option. Nothing is worse than opening this app, no matter the device, to see all your notes missing. Does it even allow you to prioritize downloads for what you need? Of course not! So if you have years of school notes, it is going to start with the oldest and work its way to what you need now. \n\nThe biggest problem here? The issues really start to build after you’ve become dependent on the app. So the developers don’t give a rats behind. They got your dedication and subscription so the issues the heaviest users encounter are ignored in favor of implementing subpar AI that is most beneficial to people using the app for kindergarten. \n\nThis is me giving a huge App Store censored middle fingers to the developers.","authorHash":"39253c0b3c4fa20a5e86a46f74d07ad8","rating":1,"offTopic":false},{"id":"771b083d-82e4-4781-a8e4-0b35022e937b","excerpt":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — New squeeze update is terrible — I’ve been using this app for awhile it was perfect for taking notes in class now the new update has come out and has ruined this app for me now with the new squeeze feature you have to select erase which adds another step to taking notes while before you","url":"https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id360593530?see-all=reviews","role":"pain","weight":0.87709194,"occurredAt":"2026-06-27T00:32:01.000Z","sourceKey":"appstore_global","sourceName":"App Store (English storefronts)","credibility":0.72,"venue":"App Store US/Notes & documents","intent":"problem_report","painScore":0.6023077,"sentiment":-0.23076923,"confidence":0.54739296,"matchedPatterns":["terrible","product:Notability"],"statement":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — New squeeze update is terrible.","title":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — New squeeze update is terrible","body":"I’ve been using this app for awhile it was perfect for taking notes in class now the new update has come out and has ruined this app for me now with the new squeeze feature you have to select erase which adds another step to taking notes while before you would just squeeze and be able to erase I’m going crazy with this new update small mistake while taking notes now take slightly longer to fix and in a math lecture that goes quick those extra seconds mean less time focusing on the material","authorHash":"540debc223fcfbce2988e3316cae0dbe","rating":1,"offTopic":false},{"id":"7794920a-224f-41b2-aa91-0a399954d979","excerpt":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — downloaded it today...the app keeps crashing out...my one hour got wasted..a blank screen keeps on popping over my notes..and now I'm unable to read my notes and not even able to write more because of the black screen","url":"https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gingerlabs.notability&hl=en","role":"pain","weight":0.7222307,"occurredAt":"2026-09-15T09:48:06.000Z","sourceKey":"googleplay_global","sourceName":"Google Play (US storefront)","credibility":0.7,"venue":"Google Play US/Notes & documents","intent":"problem_report","painScore":0.88,"sentiment":-1,"confidence":0.38416526,"matchedPatterns":["keeps_failing","product:Notability"],"statement":"downloaded it today...the app keeps crashing out...my one hour got wasted..a blank screen keeps on popping over my notes..and now I'm unable to read my notes and not even able to write more because of the black screen","title":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner","body":"downloaded it today...the app keeps crashing out...my one hour got wasted..a blank screen keeps on popping over my notes..and now I'm unable to read my notes and not even able to write more because of the black screen","authorHash":"71853dd1502504e4482ca81528230034","rating":1,"offTopic":false},{"id":"328b51bb-6cee-43eb-8f01-037e11ac8a5f","excerpt":"Notability: AI Notes & Planner — App keeps crashing — Notability is an unstable app that keeps crashing.
