When it comes to the movement, I generally prefer mechanical/automatic watches, but for a daily work environment, **a quartz movement might actually make more sense** for the accuracy and shock resistance. I am open to both.  \nI live in the EU, which adds a massive roadblock: **import duties and VAT add about 33% to the price** of anything shipped from the US.\n\n**What I've already looked at and ruled out:**  \n**Hamilton:** Beautiful, but too expensive for what I need. I don't want to risk damaging a $600+ watch at work.\n\n**Luminox:** I love the idea of Tritium, but their field watches in my price range lack a screw-down crown, which is a dealbreaker.\n\n**Timex, Citizen & Festina:** Either they lack sapphire/screw-down crowns, or they just don't have the features I'm looking for given what I intend to use the watch for.\n\n**Lorus:** Great budget option, but completely lacks the screw-down crown and sapphire crystal needed for my work conditions.\n\n**San Martin & Militado:** I’ve looked into them quite a bit and I know these brands offer incredible value and build quality for the money. However, I just haven't really connected with them for this specific purchase.\n\n**My current options and dilemmas:**  \n**1. The Boderry Route (Max Specs for the Money?)**  \nOn paper, the Boderry Voyager looks insane. For around $100–$130 shipped within the EU (via Amazon), I get a 40mm solid titanium case, sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and a Seiko automatic movement. However, when digging through forums, I see a lot of people calling it a cheap knock-off of Bertucci's original design, and worse, **many users complain about bad quality control and terrible customer service**. Even if it's cheap, it's not fun buying a watch that might fail on you with zero support.\n\n**2. The Bertucci A-2T Vintage Route (The Original Heritage)**  \nI am absolutely in love with the **Bertucci A-2T Vintage** (40mm titanium, 200m WR, screw-down crown, and sapphire). Bertucci is the absolute OG when it comes to this patented US Unibody titanium case design with indestructible built-in fixed lugs. But because I'm in the EU, buying the real deal means paying heavy shipping and that 33% tax/VAT shock, making it way too expensive to comfortably use as an everyday tool.\n\n**3. The MWC Route (Where I am looking right now)**  \nBecause of the issues above, I am currently leaning heavily towards **MWC (Military Watch Company)**. They have EU distribution hubs, so no customs drama, and they offer G10 models with 200m WR, screw-down crowns, sapphire glass, and even Tritium tubes within my budget.  \nHowever, their catalog is incredibly confusing. Can anyone explain the difference between their 50m, 100m, 200m, and 300m models? (Besides the water resistance) On their website, the models look completely (or almost) identical and even seem to have the exact same case thickness and dimensions. What am I missing here?\n\n**What would you do?**  \nShould I look past the bad customer service reviews and gamble on the Boderry? Quartz vs automatic, new vs older/neo-vintage, simple date vs day-date, very different bracelets and overall vibe.\n\n\n\nMy current watch is a 39mm black Longines HydroConquest with ceramic bezel and Arabic numerals, so for the second watch I want basically the opposite: something smaller, cleaner, with a silver/champagne dial.\n\n\n\nThe idea is to wear it mostly on weekends, weddings, dinners, holidays and generally on occasions where there’s something to celebrate. Not necessarily a traditional dress watch, but something that feels a bit more special than my everyday diver.\n\n\n\nI really like the finishing and champagne dial of the GS, and buying new for less money obviously makes sense. Besides being the Christopher Ward model that best matches my taste, it was also the one closest to my budget.\n\nAfter wearing the watch for a month, I thought I’d share some of my impressions.\n\n**First of all: the finishing really is very good.**\n\nThe case combines polished and brushed surfaces, with a very precise and pronounced transition between them that extends all the way to the tips of the lugs (as you can see in the photos).\n\nFor comparison, the Tsuyosa is well known for having a very nicely finished case for its price range, but I think the Sealander interacts with light in a more interesting way, particularly thanks to the way the brushed surfaces diffuse the light and the quality of the polishing.\n\nThat said, the difference isn't huge. To me, the biggest advantage of the Sealander is the consistency between the quality of the case and the bracelet. On the Tsuyosa, the bracelet is noticeably less well finished and brushed than the case, probably as a way of keeping costs down.\n\n**Speaking of the bracelet:** mine came with the stainless steel Bader bracelet, based on the Rolex Oyster design. What's interesting about this new version of the Sealander, launched in 2026, is that it retains the micro-adjustment and quick-release system from the previous version, but now also features tool-free adjustment.\n\nI don't have a strong opinion about this new feature yet. It's certainly convenient, but it's something you'll probably only use occasionally, and there's no way to know yet how the mechanism will hold up after many years of use.\n\nIn fact, the bracelet is the only real criticism I have of the watch.\n\nI prefer to wear my watches relatively snug on my wrist, and this caused the pins of the quick-release system to start bothering me after a while. To work around the issue, I had to use the micro-adjustment to make the bracelet slightly looser.\n\n**As for the dial**, there are several color options: black (like mine), white, blue, pink and pistachio. The design is relatively simple, with faceted indices and hands that have a diamond-like appearance.\n\nThe brand's logo is also applied, just like the indices, which I think looks really nice. On the previous version, the logo was printed on the dial.\n\n**As for the movement**, this is the new Sellita SW200-2, one of the first models to use it. It retains the 4 Hz frequency of the SW200, but now offers a 65-hour power reserve. The movement also features custom finishing and a personalized rotor from Christopher Ward.\n\nOverall, I'm very happy with the watch. It's good-looking, has excellent finishing, and the 36mm size works really well on my 16cm wrist.\n\nI'm very happy with the purchase, and I hope this review helps anyone who might be considering the C63 Sealander. So I got a 36mm Marathon MSAR, automatic, arctic dial, and I'd never been so certain of a decision in my life.  \n\nAnd the Marathon kicks ass, I nailed it.  But the bezel mechanism broke, and now its in for warranty repair, and I got this G-Shock for the 2 months or whatever that it's gone.\n\nFirst I'll say, there are some things that the Marathon really is better for. I'm finding that analog time on a dial has more information than a digital readout; I can immediately visualize how much time until \\_\\_\\_\\_ or since \\_\\_\\_, especially with the rotating bezel, whereas the digital I have to calculate it in my head. And it is easier to set the rotating bezel than a digital timer. I also like permanent (tritium) lume, instead of pressing a button with my other hand (didn't like the auto light feature).\n\nBut how do I go back to a timer that doesn't beep when its over? Or go back to my cursed phone for an alarm clock? And I never have to think about setting it (radio-controlled), even for daylight savings; never replace a battery or get a service; never worry about whacking it, or even losing it since it's not *that* expensive (got this one used).
