The prices have continued to rise, but there are several options available to me if I go this route.\n\nRyzen 5 7600x3d + Gigabyte B650 + 16gb 6000 G Flare Ram (single channel, though leaves room to upgrade and is less throttling on x3d chips). This comes out to $465 USD, or about $570 after tax and gas. There is a scenario where I either purchase a 2nd stick of identical ram for $200-250, or alternatively sell the stick, and see if I can find 32Gb used for a bit cheaper.\n\nRyzen 7 7800x3d + ASUS B650E + 32Gb 6000 G Skill Ram. This bundle is a steeper jump in price, and strongly pushing my budget for sure. $765, and ends up around $900 after the drive and tax.\n\nNewegg; skips out on the drive, but the bundles themselves are tougher.\n\nRyzen 7 7700x3d + ASUS TUF B650E-E + 16gb G Skill Ripjaws M5 Ram (single channel). This bundle comes out to $568 ($100 more than last month, hooray), or just under $630 after tax/shipping. This gets a solid middle ground between CPU performance and longevity, but presents the same issues as the Microcenter bundle with a singular stick of ram. Once again could be sold or attempt find a second stick, though at that point is nearly as expensive as the 7800x3d.\n\nThese are unfortunately the best that I have found for the time being. Im fairly unhappy with current pricing, but I’m hesitant to wait for a better deal, considering the price seems to keep moving up with no sign of slowing down. The 7600x3d is much less painful budget wise, and should not bottleneck my GPU—however the lack of 32Gb of ram concerns me, as well as the general future proofing of the system. Given my specs, do any of these chips pose a significant advantage in terms of future proofing or noticeable performance gain, since my GPU should be the limiting factor? On top of everything I’m needing to allocate money for a 1440p monitor. I couldn't figure out how I was going to manage that until I sent the same list to a friend who recommended DDR4, which admittedly hadn't crossed my mind (as you can see, I've never built a PC before). \n\nIn brief, I am a gap year student who is going to be making YouTube long-form content centred around video essays (potentially longer than an hour per vid), and educational content - different content on two different channels.
