When writing Entelechia, I found myself jumping through hoops to justify the fact she isn't \"bad\". Now I'm writing Necrass and I'm going out of my way to justify that she IS bad! In a way, this series of banners is the crux of a lot of recent AK discussion. Some \"bad\" units (Ente) end up more valuable since they do something special while some \"good\" units (Necrass) aren't as valuable as they might appear. But then you find the discussion doesn't actually matter because units who do both are coming right after (basically everyone else ahead of us).\n\nAs always, you can find the full Mastery guide [over here on Google Sheets](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iJF12O6QOba1dlUVmobwvc1eBZE7FRB6-tKxmZEcG1I/edit?usp=sharing) and my updates can also now be found on the Lungmen Dragon's page [here](https://lungmendragons.com/guides/elegies-mastery).\n\n---\n\n\n# Self Promotion and Shilling\n\nI shilled this last time, and if you were here for the last few updates, it's the same one.  But for those that missed it, I've finally published another piece of fiction!  It’s a pretty explicit coomfic about spanking (consider yourself warned), featuring Pozy and Mousse (because I love camp skins), but I’m still pleased with it as a matter of art.  I really wanted to deep dive on kink and consent, as well as my own writing, and I think I succeeded.  I even went as far as to commission a piece for it from the wonderful Gandy!  However, since it’s all very NSFW, I can’t link it directly here.  You can find the works over on my AO3 page [here](https://archiveofourown.org/users/TacticalBreakfast) or linked off my link compilation [here](https://www.reddit.com/user/TacticalBreakfast/comments/130sxzf/tacticalbreakfasts_arknights_links_and_resources/).\n\nAdditionally, there's no Paid Pack Values post this time since there's only one new pack (the E2 pack), but it's fairly good value if you value those sorts of packs.  The next one will probably come with Exu's patch.\n\n---\n\n# Should You Pull?\n\nNo. As with Entelechia, it doesn't actually matter if Necrass is good or bad. Everyone else ahead is better and only spenders can roll for everyone. Necrass is our last \"easy\" skip before we hit the gauntlet, so just save your pulls.\n\nOn her own merits, she's a fairly powerful unit thanks to a very absurd last minute buff. If you want to use her for whatever reason (flawed as those reasons may be, see the FAQ) you won't have a problem doing so. However, she also lacks upside. In difficult content, her summons get stat-checked and are mostly ineffective, while her damage has no RES-shred and limited utility. She’s also map dependent since she requires both trash to kill to create her summons, and can only summon within her own range. So she doesn’t do much in hard content, and is instead a general content carry. Thus there isn't a lot of justification to pull for her besides desire, despite being pretty decent.\n\nOK, now I'm going to hit you with a wild take. I'll admit before getting into this, I'm in the minority here, but I think there's an important point here when it comes to allocating your pull resources.\n\nI would rather have Entelechia than Necrass. In a vacuum, yes of course Necrass is better. However, she has no ceiling. She's only a story carry. The thing is, the power ceiling is so high right now that *everyone* is a story carry. It's almost a meaningless term now. Does she help beat any given story stage more than Mon3tr, Exusiai2, or Tragodia will? Even if you started the game right now with Necrass as your first and only 6★, she'd still probably be off your team after six months. With so many powerful units now, there's no reason to use Necrass specifically besides wanting to. Entelechia at least has some situational value as an IS#6 starter or a minimum damage burster.\n\nNow, to be clear here I'm not saying Ente is the better of the two. When we're doing the tier list discussions, I'll be voting for her several tiers above where Entelechia ended up. The point rather, and the lesson I'm hoping to convey, is that pulling for Necrass is ultimately a low value proposition even if you think you \"need\" a unit like her. There's just so many better units coming up, and Necrass has a far lower ceiling than basically all of them.\n\n---\n\n# FAQ and Discussion\n\n## **Q:**  Anything more to say about Necrass gameplay-wise?\n\n**A:**  No, actually, which kinda plays into my point in the Should You Pull. There just isn't a lot of nuance that's worth discussing here. Sure, I could go into the mechanical details of her kit, but they don't change anything in terms of pulling or investment, nor is that what this article tends to be about. Rather, there isn't much that's special to say. The SYP above and the Mastery update below cover basically everything.\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  What was that about a last minute buff?\n\n**A:**  I still can't believe this is a thing that happened. Anyone who plays this game long enough starts to have suspicions and questions about how the hell HG does design and development, and the situation with Necrass really only served to reinforce those worries.\n\nBasically, Necrass was the first unit on CN who got video previews. And boy, they were *bad*. I remember watching them and thinking, \"Why did they do a video for this? Are they trying to scare people away from rolling?\" If Necrass had come out in that state, there's a good chance she'd have been the worst gacha 6★ since Viviana or Ho'olheyak.\n\nApparently the CN community had the same reaction as I did, because there was a huge outcry and HG dished out a massive last minute buff. In the 3 or 4 days between preview and release, they just inflated all of her numbers to absurd levels until she wasn't quite so shitty. It's pretty insane because how on earth did a highly desired enemy-turned-operator get tuned so badly? How did she even make it out of the design room like that let alone into the game and into previews? How many sets of eyes saw that and thought \"yea this is fine\"? It's honestly baffling. They fucked up so bad with her that even after an absolutely massive last-second buff, she still kinda sucks!\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  Does Necrass’ upcoming Module change anything?\n\n**A:**  No. It’s a good Module that greatly improves her damage, but doesn’t address any of the flaws in her kit. Damage isn’t really her problem, so the Module is nice (really nice, actually), but doesn’t change any of the decisions.\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  From a world-design perspective, why aren't you as bent out of shape about Necrass as you are about Mon3tr?\n\n**A:**  To be honest, Necrass is definitely the bigger narrative sin. She's also the bigger gacha-tier bait since there's a massive lore contrivance just to make a former enemy into someone we could hypothetically recruit. She *should* be everything I dislike about Mon3tr but worse! The thing is though, I'm just so damn tired of Victoria I can't find it in me to care. The world of Terra is so huge and so full of interesting places, but we can't seem to escape this damn place. How in the hell did the main Sarkaz story end but we still have three different related events in the last six months? Jesus Christ, just go away already.\n\nSo basically, yes, Necrass is *really* bad story-wise. I hate her too. I'm just not as invested in her though. I just want to be done with this patch and move onto all the far cooler places that exist in this world.\n\nA little more seriously (although I am serious about hating this arc), I think the difference is visual. All of Necrass' flaws are in the story. She still looks cool as fuck and her visual identity feels like it belongs in the game. It's easy to just forget or ignore the bad parts, especially if you aren't invested in her already (which as I said above, I am not). The flaws with Mon3tr though have more to do with how she fits into the world (or rather, how she doesn't). It can't so easily be shrugged off.\n\nAnyway, I'm rambling. Please don't comment on Mon3tr down below. I won't respond. Seriously, every time it comes up it becomes a comment chain of irritating length. I made an off-handed joke about Miss.Christine last patch and ended up with a 30+ comment chain. I'll likely be making a dedicated post on the topic as ch15 comes around (although as time goes on, I want to do it less and less), so save your insults for then.\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  Would you rather whine about Brigid?\n\n**A:**  I've had a lot of negative things to say about various 5★s over the years, but many of the bad ones are at least interesting. Brigid is the opposite. She's not bad but is one of the most low-effort uninspired slop units we've got in a long time. For better or worse, the 5★ rarity is often an experimental one. There's more design space to work with, so there's more potential to do something interesting than with the 4★s. As much as I love Caper, her kit doesn't exactly scream creativity! So it becomes pretty disappointing that Brigid is just Narantuya-lite and does nothing special herself.\n\nCompare her to other recent 5★s to see what I mean. Even bad units like Xingzhu have some identity of their own. It's not always good (being good isn't the point here), but it gives them some reason to be a unit other than just filling up space. You have to go back pretty far to find another 5★ that's this uninteresting. It's such a fun archetype too! What a waste!\n\nEven her visual design is uninspired (sorry Meta). She looks like she came directly out of a generic seasonal isekai anime whose name you forgot before the season was even done airing. Caper and Narantuya are both amazingly cool characters!\n\nBrigid is just disappointing all around, although the silver lining is she's at least decent. She's barely better than Caper, which is disappointing, but Caper is good so if you want to use her over the bratty prankster, you'll have no problem. Don't let me whining about design stop you from promoting her! But there’s just so much potential in the archetype, so Brigid in this state just feels really bad.\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  Any thoughts on Wulfenite?\n\n**A:**  I don't think I've ever made a THICC comment. It's just not my thing and most times when you gooners say it, it's for some twig thin stick who is the opposite of thick. But god damn. Kudos to HG for making an actual thick girl.\n\nNow that isn't just a shitpost. For as much as Brigid pisses me off, Wulfenite shows me a glimmer of hope. The visual design doesn't even actually appeal to me, but I just love that we have novel designs in Arknights! Her kit is pretty awesome too. While not especially meta or anything at all, her kit is as interesting as her design. She's a bit like Ela (if you ignore Ela's powerful attacks) since she has fewer, but more impactful mines. It gives Wulfenite some unique play that the other Trapmasters don't really have.\n\nGiven the absurd power level, there isn't a great meta justification. Even her main value (remote Stuns) works just fine at E1. However, she's an amazing \"fun\" unit with some real niche potential, so I'd definitely encourage giving her consideration!\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  Any Module thoughts for this patch?\n\n**A:**  \n\n**EN - When Elegies Are Ashes**\n\nI was going to cop out and copy paste the writeups from six months ago. It felt like repeating myself, but getting into the weeds a bit, there was basically something new to say for almost all of them. No easy way out for me. In the end, only Gnosis was really the same from initial review. Go figure.\n\n* **Wulfenite** - Wulfenite is the only new unit to launch with her Module. As time has gone on, I've come to dislike the TRP-Y base effect. The odds are just too low, which is made worse by Wulfenite's lower trap count. It's a nice effect, but a frustration in RNG. However, her upgrades are pretty solid. Since her traps are manual, getting that extra damage is pretty trivial. It's not a massive amount of damage, but definitel","offTopic":false},{"id":"97f15571-a22f-478b-b22b-565a8a374512","excerpt":"A Mastery Priority Guide & Should You Pull - Crossing — # Introduction\n\nBologna is a sandwich meat I never quite liked, but that should not be confused with Bellone, a unit who is also not especially respected, although one who is actually quite decent. This is the worst joke I have ever written. Sorry, but I can't stop hearing bologna whenever I hear his name. I've also learned that \"baloney\" is an acceptable spelling in modern English. But why am I researching the etymology of a funny word for no reason other than it sounds similar to his name if I misspronounce it? Incidentally, as a teen I liked to say it \"buh-log-nuh\" as an intentional mispronunciation, which sounds nothing like his name, even if you say it funny. Also incidentally, one of my favorite sandwiches is an Italian sub, which is the inspiration for Siracusa, but it's a sub that doesn't have bologna in it! Err. What was this article about again?\n\nAs always, you can find the full Mastery guide [here (Sheets)](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iJF12O6QOba1dlUVmobwvc1eBZE7FRB6-tKxmZEcG1I/) and [here (web)](https://ironcarrotarchives.com/). This update is also available on Sanity;Gone, which you can find [here](https://sanitygone.help/en/guides/).\n\n# Announcement - Web Version of the Mastery Guide!\n\nI'm happy to announce that I have *finally* finished something that is long overdue. The web-based version of the Mastery guide is [now live](https://ironcarrotarchives.com/)! It should be much faster than the Sheets version, contains links to lots of other guides and works, and will even include a place for me to blog things that don't really belong here or on Reddit (for those rare few who care).\n\nThe guide will 100% continue to be updated on the existing Sheets version, and the articles will continue to be published at the usual places. I have no intention of stopping any of those to favor this new site! One bit of fallout for me from Gamepress dying suddenly was how awful it felt that I had no way to reach certain people that came looking.\n\nI'm also not a web developer by any means, so please feel free to share any feedback!\n\n[Iron Carrot Archives - https://ironcarrotarchives.com/](https://ironcarrotarchives.com/)\n\nAnyway, onto the guide!\n\n# Should You Pull?\n\nNo. Bellone is actually a perfectly fine unit, so this is a value situation. While he's fine to great, depending on the circumstances, he's still one of the \"weakest\" units ahead of us and additionally comes ahead of a long string of limited banners, while he will continue to be relatively obtainable after his banner. A unit really needs to be of an extremely high level of power to be a consideration in this situation, and neither he nor Zima the Raging Tide (the next unit) reach that bar.\n\nTo get into a little more detail, Bellone does a helluva lot of damage with a huge amount of DEF-shred. This lets him have some pretty consistent and powerful DPS, and he even has some decent control to boot. However, outside of that he's quite awkward. As with Chen3 in the last patch, his S3's move gimmick often causes more problems than it's worth. His \"bulk\" comes in the form of dodge, which even in the best case, is still RNG dependent, and he'll often just get one-shot by dangerous enemies. Even when it works, it can leave him in undesirable places with some unpredictable outcomes (although he is better about this than Chen3 is). Most damning though is his S3 is only a single-target. It hurts to write that as a flaw, because it doesn’t feel like that should be a big deal, but in the modern game with so many ultrapowerful units, it's a big one. Meanwhile, his S2 solves many of those issues, but he's quite a bit more fragile and his DPS isn't nearly as good (although still great). In another era of the game, that would all seem like nitpicking, but in 2026, and especially when sandwiched between two other great Guards, it makes him far less appealing as a pull target.\n\nThe bigger problem though, and the same problem that will plague Zima2 next patch, is that the upcoming stretch is brutal. It was already brutal before the summer livestream, but now we know it will be even worse. The stretch is Closure/Kal2 (both powerful, Kal2 is limited) > MH2 (Orchid2 collab limited) > MH1 rerun (Yato2 collab limited) > Summer (limited, early review looks very powerful) > Persona 3 collab (another collab limited). That's 4-5 limited banners in a row (except for Aphrissa between MH2 and the Summer banner, who is also an easy skip)! And that doesn't even include the Tragodia rerun! Sadly, the nature of the gacha means it simply doesn't make sense to pull for a \"weaker\" and non-limited unit like Bellone.\n\nAs a brief aside, yes we do know the likely Persona 3 date. It was easy to miss (and maybe unintentional) but the livestream showed the expiration date of the free pulls. The collab should start September 3rd, which is about 11 days after the summer event ends, although this is technically still unconfirmed (could be an old graphic or something like that).\n\nThe last consideration here is a minor one, but still worth mentioning since it will affect the decision for a few people. Bellone's banner will not get rerun. For whatever reason, these story collection banners never get rerun. It probably wouldn't matter anyway because few rerun banners are worth considering (Tragodia is the only one worth considering in the last two years or more), but if you really like Bellone and are thinking you can just wait a year, well, you'd be mistaken. However, he should be on the paid selector for the limited banner that will run in roughly April of next year.\n\n# FAQ\n\n## **Q:** If I get him, should I raise Bellone?\n\n**A:** Supposing he spooks you later, or you came here after the fact and wasted your pulls¹ (rip), then yes, Bellone is worth raising. As mentioned, he has some great DPS and his strong DEF-shred is a great, if specific, team utility. Of course that's not as valuable as many other upcoming options, so you do have to consider the priority of your resources, but he's not the sort of unit you should just leave at the back of your roster at E0 either.\n\nIf you're a new player, he may not be the highest priority unit to raise, but the good news is he works pretty well at E1. His DEF-shred isn't as strong, but still present, and his SL7 DPS is still respectable. So other upcoming (as of this writing) units will generally be worth the advanced resources more, but throwing a few for the basic upgrades on Bellone may be a good idea, with the E2/M3/Mod3 type upgrades saved for later.\n\n¹ I'm assuming that if you intentionally pull for him, you already plan to raise him. Although if you’re based, like me, he spooked you on the way to Ripresa. There’s dozens of us! DOZENS!\n\n## **Q:** How do the three recent/future 6★ Guards compare?\n\n**A:** I hate Guards so much. There's so many of them, and many are so functionally similar that ranking them becomes a fool's errand. It's one of the biggest problems we deal with on the [Tier List](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E7HmgKWiV8pKpJpvpVzziYxnaQTP01Vtw_PXEdL7XPA/)! HG did get a bit better with it in recent years, but as if to remind us that we're still playing Guardknights, we now have three in a row. Ch'en the Dawnstreak (last banner), Bellone (this banner), and Zima the Raging Tide (next banner).\n\nI think the differences between them are actually pretty academic. The reason being, Chen3 was a co-star in the Wang banner, while Bellone and Zima2 are banners you should probably be skipping for the next ultra-powerful limited banner. However, this article is fairly short, so why not ramble briefly?\n\nChen3 is the clear winner between them, so it's a bit lucky she was on the limited banner which simplified the decision (and why I didn't have this question last update). She has that great combination of range, potential, damage, and bulk that just fits together perfectly.\n\nBetween the two remaining, most people would rank Zima2 over Bellone, and that's may be how they'll end up ranked on the tier list. However, I personally have the opposite opinion, and why I'm writing this question at all! There will be plenty of time to discuss Zima2 next patch, but the brief overview is that I don't value AFK OPs highly at all¹. The exception is for units who are great regardless of being AFK, like Pramanix the Prerita, where the AFK \"value\" is merely there rather than the primary feature. Of course, as a modern unit, Zima2 is still very powerful, so this is all speaking in relative values. It's been a long time since we've had a non-gacha 6★ that wasn't absurd relative to the older units!\n\nHowever, that same fact leads me to value units that do something \"special\". Pram2 is like this. Her snow tiles are incredible! However, Zima2 has no such feature. She charges fast and does a ton of damage, and for many people that will be enough. But she doesn't even have self-sustain, so for me, Bellone's high DEF-shred feels like a much more useful tool. I likely wouldn't run either as a default member of a full meta team (except when I'm feeling lazy, Zima2 is still great, as I keep saying), so if I'm treating them as flex / situational options, I'd much rather have the one with a relatively unique and strong bit of utility!\n\nSo, all that said, should you pull for either? No. This question doesn't actually matter. Save for Kal2 and Closure. If you're going to pull for one anyway, should you take my advice? Eh, probably not. This question is mostly here to share a differing opinion and perspective on the game. For a great many people, Zima2 will be the far better option when you consider usability. Throw her down with a healer, and she'll clear most of the game with no further input required. She's basically a modern Thorns, and Thorns was so popular despite being powercrept long ago for a reason. But if you're looking to elevate your skills as a professional Doktah a bit more, consider that usability might be a pretty small factor!\n\n¹ I'm not saying it's wrong to value AFK, so save your angry comments. If that's how you like to play the game, by all means, have fun! That isn't the point of this article, however.\n\n## **Q:** Should I raise Ripresa?\n\n**A:** No. Ripresa broke my heart. When I first saw her, I thought I had finally gotten another new bunny! But alas! Treachery was afoot, and it turns out she's actually a horrible goat. Easily the worst race after S*rkaz! She should be derided and shamed, not promoted! Fortunately, the summer banner is here to sooth my broken heart. We'll be together soon Jacinta!\n\nOK, enough memes. Ripresa is actually \"decent\" (for her rarity) but you still shouldn't raise her. Her DPS is pretty good since her S2 cycles very fast, however she will rarely reach her potential and lacks any utility to make up for it. The problem is her fireballs each have to have an independent target. It's three *targets*, not three *attacks*. This means her DPS falls quickly if there aren't three targets in her range, which is often, considering the short Splash Caster range. Similar units already exist, such as Leonhardt (ironically, an actual bunny) who has utility too and he still barely sees use in niche play. So Ripresa may be usable if you really want, but she's the type of unit who, while passable, isn't even especially valuable to niche players.\n\n\n## **Q:** Any early thoughts on IS#7?\n\n**A:** Nope. I haven't actually had a chance to play it yet. Summer is a busy time for me. I hear good things though, which is nice to hear because I cannot get myself to care about IS#6 anymore. Between that, the Wang patch, and being stuck in Wuling in Endfield, I am quite sick of Yan!\n\nIn any case, this question is mostly here just to remind you that there won't be any major changes to the guide due to IS#7. The game (and the guide) just don't flex to individual iterations like they used to, so sweeping adjustments no longer make sense, not to mention are a nightmare for maintainability. At the end of the day, meta is temporary (truly in this game), having characters you love on your roster is forever. \n\nThat being said, there's a distinct line between pulling or 'defending a pull' of a character you like, and advertising or pushing them as BIS for a DPS, obviously in this case, Eva. \n\nI also want to add, I really like both characters, so please don't assume I'm doomposting them into the ground. I'm actually planning on getting Robikini for Seele, and will most likely test her out on Eva as well. But my main draw isn't pulling her for Eva, and I think a lot of peoples opinions are going to push players in the wrong direction, especially those with E0/E1 (who should be saving for E2) Eva and/or F2P's with limited pulls who ***should*** be saving for Elation sustain and potentially Nihilux (big on potentially).\n\nAll that said, I'm starting to notice a growing trend across threads here (and elsewhere) that one of the two 4.5 limited's is going to be an EMC replacement, and that's just not true. Beyond that, to reiterate,  it's a terrible waste of pulls when we know Pearl is around the corner, and we have no confirmation of EMC replacement being (or not being) Nihilux. At the very least, wait till the end of a banner (where Pearls kit should be in full swing); at most, skip altogether. What matters most (in no particular order):\n   * Energy\n   * CB generation\n   * Punchline\n   * Elation skill activations\n   * PARTICIPANT ID LOWER THAN EVA's\n   * Standard bonuses (Res pen, elation, vuln, def ignore)\n   * Additional turns that don't disrupt CB flow\n\nIt's not crazy to think that there are plenty of people running her that don't fully understand her kit, so let's just touch on some important aspects:\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/8x0yohhjkohh1.png?width=1378&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d12b473df9c4ff52c0b8e43854ab6ec8ba646b7\n\n* Ult cost 240 energy, but can store 480 max energy\n* Whenever she gains energy, she also gains the same amount of CB, and vice versa. Up to 100 CB can be mirrored this way\n* Skill generates 30 energy and 10 punchline\n* Hitting either 240 threshold triggers master fox\n* Loves CD\n\nAt E2, conversions and a variety of factors increase the above aspects of her kit, and reward team synergies\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/heml92w5lohh1.png?width=1185&format=png&auto=webp&s=c879566145942dc260cf19734afbf135433c2eea\n\nSo, these factors become the standards for which replacements should be judged.\n\n  \n\n\n# 🦊EMC's current benefit to Eva🦊\n\nAt the end of the day, we just can't ignore the fact that EMC is free. But beyond that, let's see what they actually do:\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/qu9ma5p5mohh1.png?width=1366&format=png&auto=webp&s=647e0e07792da01f4377425246fa6fdffe4de267\n\n* 50% CD for 3 turns + cleanse ✔️\n* 12% Elation from E2 ✔️\n* 10-16 CB on Ult from stacks (e1 amplifies from the above pic, and can stack up to 3x) ✔️\n* Eva auto skills with fixe 20 punchline ✔️\n* 10% increased damage for 2 turns (E4) ✔️\n\nEMC's skill also generates 20CB for themselves, and since their Participant ID is 120 (lower than Eva's 146), Eva gets the copy.\n\nSo, all-in-all, EMC supports pretty much every part of Eva's \"engine\".\n\n  \n\n\n# 🦊Robikini🦊\n\nAgain, I'm not trying to doompost, and I'm also not trying to undersell the characters, because Robikini is actually busted lol, just not for Eva. She provides good buffs, but is she the intended ***long-term BIS*** worth using pulls on and replacing EMC in an Eva comp?\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/vhyab1guqohh1.png?width=628&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f3fe5202e4155c6a797352adfc55f8c855b2cd2\n\nAs above, so below. Lets see the kit:\n\n^(I'm gonna have to do this in multiple parts, since there's a memosprite in there too:)\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/mb5myh88nohh1.png?width=1372&format=png&auto=webp&s=58ed88b1204c9ea8e81586aea51f536e79cf8165\n\n* Skill does skill things, nothing currently affecting Eva\n* Ult\n   * 100% AA\n   * Energy restoration of 20% to Eva\n      * 20% of 480 (eva's max energy cost) = 96\n      * Eva also gets 96 mirrored CB (because of her own kit, not Robikini)\n   * Eva turns into \"Special Guest\"\n      * Each attack by Eva grants Robikini 2 additional vibes\n      * Duration is 2 turns, and since Eva has no summon (still salty about this) I'm unsure if Master fox would actually give 2 additional vibes\n* Vibes (what we play games for)\n   * Robikini gains 1 vibe when\n      * any ally attacks (important, not just eva - but yao as well)\n      * Robin or birb-trio receive healing or shields (shields would be important because Pearl is currently leaked as a shielder)\n   * E0 cap on vibes is 50\n* Fever\n   * Once Robikini hits fever, there's CC immunity, no more normal turns, and zone deployment. But for Eva's benefit, it's DEF ignore:\n      * 15% + (0.5 \\* current vibes)\n      * At 50 vibes, that's 40% Def ignore\n* **In total at max kit setup**\n   * **40% DEF ignore**\n   * **20% enemy damage taken**\n   * **Personal damage from Robin**\n      * **Substantial over EMC**\n\nWe're going to compare at E0, since we're replacing a free unit (but yes, E1 is crazy). ***The Eva-specific buffs are:***\n\n* 100% AA\n* 96 CB + Energy generation\n* Eva then feeds back into Robikini for her to get fever\n* 40% DEf ignore\n* 20% damage\n   * Robikini will provide greater damage output on the team than EMC, especially at low-cycles where we don't factor extra aha instances in prolonged fights\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/98wzpqh0uohh1.png?width=1140&format=png&auto=webp&s=0c7b73cbfbb1bba2ff74705506151046fb6b1e3b\n\nIn summary, Robin provides better teamwide damage output, one large Eva energy/CB injection, one 100% AA, and then a strong zone window.\n\n  \n\n\n# 🦊The Downsides to Robikini🦊\n\n**〰️Trace: Deviate Chord (pic above)〰️**\n\n* Eva will almost certainly have higher atk than robin, especially considering some people run ATK% boots on her, and Robikini is HP-scaling. This means she most likely gets the ATK branch. \n   * You could probably mitigate this with Spd boots, but it may throw off other rotational elements (I run speed because the subs are too good to pass up)\n\nEither way, CD or ATK, it's still decent, but now we have to revisit what our biggest improvements for Eva would be:\n\n* Energy ✔️ (1 time, ult)\n* CB gen ✔️ (1 time, ult)\n* Punchline ❌\n* Skill frequency via turns ❌\n* Lower participant ID ❌\n\nThe key takeaway isn't \"oh this doesn't work, scrap the character\", it's just \"objectively, a major targeted trace buff doesn't land in a valuable bucket for benefiting Eva ***consistently throughout a fight***\". Also remember, higher CD has diminishing returns, and Eva is already ripe with CD. \n\nTo simplify that last statement, going from 500% CD and 1000% CD is not 2x the damage. You can calc that yourself here:\n\n* [https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Damage](https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Damage)\n\n**〰️Trace: Improvised Blues (pic above)〰️**\n\n* Her strongest Eva-interaction, the AA, is tied to a 140-cost Ultimate that is dependent on healing\n   * This is clearly why she's designed specifically as a Cyrene sidegrade, and gives creedence to the whole Remembrance archetype. It's why she's so strong with Hyacine, and thus strong with HP scalers.\n* Essentially, her rotation via this trace is sustain dependent (luckily, the best sustain for wherever you place Robikini will be HuoHuo)\n   * I personally believe Hoyo hates sustainless comps (makes sense, they want people gambling). But this just shows that without regular healing or shielding, she loses a good chunk of her energy engine.\n\nLastly, something that is lost on Robikini, but not on Waven, is that she's not Elation. So:\n\n* ❌She doesn't participate in an aha instant\n* ❌no lower-ID (or ID at all) means no CB sharing\n* ❌No elation-specific interactions with Eva\n* ❌Punchline generation\n\nWhat we're really evaluating here is ***long-term concern***. Yes, in shill this will look decent. Especially considering 4.5 AA King is irontomb. But the bigger concern is a future elation support can potentially provide both generic amplification ***and*** direct participation in Eva's engine.\n\nLastly, Robikini’s personal damage is HP-and-memosprite-based. Yao’s Elation sharing does not directly help it, and Huohuo’s ATK buff is mostly irrelevant to her. (Yao's RES PEN and vuln still help).\n\n\n\n# 🦊Waventurine🦊\n\nAs said before, I'm not doomposting. Let's start off with some immediate benefits that Waven has over Eva:\n\n* He's an Elation character, so benefits in elation mechanics and participates in Aha instants\n* Provides teammwide CD outside of a specific ult window\n* Buffs aren't necessarily dependent on a sustain comp\n* Solid subdps option providing the team with good damage output alongside an MDPS\n\nAll-in-all, Robikini is more \"target Eva for buffs\", Waven is \"buff myself, but give the team some stuff along the way\".\n\nLet's look:\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/x3o1j6hnoshh1.png?width=1383&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c8f059fe1532def460936ee66e77185c2e0657e\n\n* Skill does skill things, however:\n   * Deals ok damage\n   * Gains 4 punchline\n   * Gains 4 fervor for himself\n   * Gen 30 energy (pretty standard)\n* Ult\n   * 130 energy cost\n   * big damage\n   * gains 6 punchline\n   * gains 8 fervor\n   * give's himself 30% SPD for 4 turns\n* Talents\n   * He's less-geared towards \"talents that do or do not help Eva\" and more geared towards \"my talents help myself\". But there are some important duo synergies that exist if he runs on this team\n      * talent gives 1 fervor and 1 punchline after every teammate attack\n      * at 10 fervor, waven immediately launches his elation skill\n      * fervor cap is 30\n   * The important thing to note is a 30 fervor cap, with gains off teammates actions, means he wants teammates attacking often, hence why he loves FUA. \n* CD\n   * Teamwide 48% CD\n\nThere is a discrepancy to note:\n\n***Revel in Surging Waves*** trace in-summary says, \"If another Elation character is present, Waven’s Elation increases by 80%\". However, the Chinese wording shows that the V5 changes reduced from 100% to 80%, and actually reads, \"20% for all allies, and Wave gains an additional 80%\".\n\nEssentially, the mistranslation on EN has omitted the teamwide gain.\n\nSo, all-in-all, Waven offers:\n\n* likely 20% team Elation (pending translation) ✔️\n* 48% CD ✔️\n* 9.6% converted elation for Eva 〰️\n* Personal buffs ❌\n* dual-dps output ❌\n   * This is an ❌ because we're looking for eva-specific synergies\n\nWaven is good, and a decent dual-dps here, while being a stronger sub-dps elsewhere. His kit is selfish, highly akin to his character on some levels (no shade, love Aven).\n\n\n\n# 🦊The downsides to Waventurine🦊\n\nRemember, we're not just asking \"Does Waven work with Eva?\". We're also asking, \"Does Waven improve Eva’s team enough to justify spending limited pulls over free EMC, especially when EMC already matches Eva’s mechanics relatively well?\"\n\nLet's just note the EMC's package real quick:\n\n* 50% CD for 3 turns + cleanse ✔️\n* 12% Elation from E2 ✔️\n* 10-16 CB on Ult from stacks (e1 amplifies from the above pic, and can stack up to 3x) ✔️\n* Eva auto skills with fixe 20 punchline ✔️\n* 10% increased damage for 2 turns (E4) ✔️\n\nWaven's direct support is not much better, beca","offTopic":false},{"id":"f4afbac5-e414-4daf-8a25-b4d1c63eab44","excerpt":"A Mastery Priority Guide & Should You Pull - Unrealized Realities — # Introduction\n\nIt should be a pretty short update this time. Good news for those who hate reading I guess. Oddly, the most unique units are often the easiest to write about, and Nasti is very much a member of that group. There's less nuance to convey when there's no good comparables as opposed to all of the various shades of broken that are more common these days. In any case, I'm personally far more excited for this patch than I was for the last one, so let's get into it.\n\nAs always, you can find the full Mastery guide [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iJF12O6QOba1dlUVmobwvc1eBZE7FRB6-tKxmZEcG1I/). This is a pretty great banner for a certain type of player, but for most, the cost is too high for what amounts to an indirect solution, when a *very* direct solution (or two, or three, or four) is still ahead of us. Which is to say, no matter how unique or cool Nasti may be, saving for Wang, Ch'en the Dawnstreak, and now the 7th Anniversary units will serve you much better.\n\nNow, that said, I think Nasti is about as \"special\" as off-meta units get. No one does what she does (building high ground tiles) and it's likely no one will *ever* do that again either. It's just such a unique value that can make some stages much easier or allow for some creative gameplay. In a way, Nasti continues the powercreep trend, albeit differently than you may be thinking. She is a significant step up for what Artificers have historically been capable of! When you think about the game mechanics, creating your own high-ground tile on the map is truly insane!\n\nHer 5★ banner mate, Cairn, is quite a solid unit if you prefer off-meta clears as well. While she certainly has no meta value (stupid Tragodia, stupid Hoshi2, grumble grumble), if you're the rare sort who doesn't like using that caliber unit, she can be a solid addition too!\n\nNow, to be clear and to reiterate, you shouldn't pull here if you don't know what you're doing. We just got done with an extremely powerful banner, and there's another extremely powerful one in 2-3 months. Now is the time you should be saving, not blowing what stash you have remaining on a unit you will *probably* find to be a gimmick. It's just, there's a small but meaningful amount of players who will find this banner to be one of the best upcoming. If you've had enough meta for a lifetime and have a few pulls to spare, well, Nasti would be a pretty solid place to look for something a bit different.\n\n# FAQ and Discussion\n\n## **Q:** Who are the best units to place on Nasti's high ground tile? Are any required to own to use her?\n\n**A:** The question of if anyone is \"required\" to use Nasti is a tricky one. Certainly, no one is actually required by the literal meaning of the word. 3★ Kroos will work just fine on the special tile after all! However, there are units that are certainly better. It's also impossible to give a complete answer since it's inherently situational.\n\nThat out of the way, Nasti's best friend is Pramanix the Prerita. Pram2 is already the top Caster in the game, but sometimes her S2's range can feel a bit small and the snowfield does have a limit to how far it can reach. Nasti's high ground tile can really open up some opportunities for Pram2 to really dominate a stage.\n\nTragodia with his S3 is probably the higher ceiling option though. It’s the single most powerful control skill in the game, so the flexibility in placement in addition to the ATK buff can really open up some wild possibilities.\n\nThe upcoming Ch’en the Dawnstreak can also benefit a lot from the tile, albeit in a different way. With her S3 she shoots out a dragon that travels the map, and Nasti’s tile can redirect the dragon. With some careful consideration, it opens up some pretty ridiculous damage.\n\nIfrit is another common suggestion, although it's not one I'd put too much stock into. Of course, if you like Ifrit, Nasti's tile will make her a lot better! But Ifrit's damage isn't anything special by modern standards, so it becomes more a situation of desire as opposed to the best choice.\n\nThere’s plenty more too. While the general suggestion in this article is to skip rolling on Nasti, if she does interest you, you shouldn’t take a lack of these units as a reason not to. Virtually any ranged unit will benefit, plus many of the best ones aren’t even limited so will come with time. In other words, I wouldn’t factor owning Tragodia or Pram2 into your pull decisions. Which leads to our next question…\n\n## **Q:** Does Ch'en the Dawnstreak or Zima the Raging Tide change Nasti's evaluation?\n\n**A:** For those that don't know, both Ch'en3 and Zima2, who come out after Nasti, benefit from high ground tiles. So, on its face, this is a valuable thing. However, it doesn't really change the evaluation or whether you should pull or not. It isn't that these two increase Nasti's value, but rather it shows how her value isn't some fleeting thing. There's very good odds we'll never get another unit that can create high-ground tiles, so these two illustrate how she's likely to stick around. Probably never at the top of the meta, certainly, but always lingering as a viable alternate solution whereas some older gimmick units like Stainless or Ebenholz have aged much worse.\n\nAlso, Zima2 barely benefits at all and I only bring it up here since I’ve seen the question a few times already.\n\nWhich is all a kinda long way to say, no they don't change anything, but if you're rolling for Nasti anyway, it's nice to know she's likely to maintain her value.\n\n## **Q:** Should I raise Cairn?\n\n**A:** Both of the 5★s this patch are pretty good, Cairn especially, but the state of the game makes the bar a 5★ needs to meet to be worth raising incredibly high. Unfortunately, as good as she is for her rarity, Cairn doesn't quite reach that level, but she is a great choice if you like off-meta play. Nervous Impairment is an incredibly strong form of Elemental Injury, so access to that at the rarity is a good thing for her. I was actually a bit worried when she was first announced because I feared NI’s strength would mean her power would end up gimped due to her rarity. Fortunately though, HG solved it in a pretty interesting way. Since there was no way her S2 was ever going to trigger NI in a single activation, she instead gets that benefit when she herself is the one blocking, which gives a nice counterplay of considerations that well balanced units actually have. It makes her surprisingly bulky, even more so than Croissant, one of my absolute best 5★ MVPs, against some enemies.\n\nHowever, while that's all well and good, it's not really enough to make her a general consideration. She doesn't stack with Tragodia, of course, and there are some pretty absurd 6★ Defenders these days who get that bulk without the extra trouble. But even if you're just starting out and have none of those, the cost issue that plagues the 5★ Defenders remain. You'll get 90% of the way there with just Gummy and Cuora, plus their IS value, so it's really hard to be a general 5★ Defender consideration. But if you're the sort of player who thinks using Tragodia is boring, then she is a fantastic option.\n\nAlso, one of her battle lines is her getting on a megaphone to say there won't be warning shots because ammo is expensive (relatable tbh). If that doesn't make a unit worth raising, I don't know what does.\n\n## **Q:** Should I raise Skybox?\n\n**A:** Skybox is our newest archetype that HG seemingly won't touch again. They're really pushing the floating thing, but with the exception of the 7th anni limited and a Liberator, of all things, don't seem to actually want to do anything with them. At any rate, Skybox is a decent unit and Skybreakers seem to basically be new-age Artillerymen (AoE Snipers) that fly. It's a relatively nice gimmick since they can remain relatively safe which allows for aggressive placement. So... new-age Camouflage too I guess (April is still better).\n\nAnyway, aside from his really cool design, that aggressive placement he can control and some decent damage makes Skybox a pretty serviceable unit. He can do it decently at E1 too, so he doesn't require lots of investment. However, he's also a lot less special than Cairn is. While his damage is decent, it's only decent for his rarity, and with so many powerful 6★s these days, a bit of aggressive placement isn't really anything special. So ultimately, most people shouldn't raise him. He'll be a nice addition for some niche teams, or if you just think he's neat, but for most, won't justify the resources.\n\n## **Q:** Any Module thoughts for this patch?\n\n**A:** Mal is still alive. Supposedly. I was debating going back to my old ways this update to make up for it since this update is otherwise pretty short, be he assures me he’ll get it out on time. So check that out when he posts it if you want a full rundown. I’m grateful for that because the Modules here are again pretty boring, so I wasn’t terribly excited to write about them. Except for one of my baby bunnies of course!\n\n**EN - Unrealized Realities**\n\n* **Ray's 2nd** - Ahh, my sweet baby Ray (also a delicious BBQ sauce). Don’t you worry. Even if a roach powercrept you after only a few months, and that stupid pink devil (no not that one, the other one) is hogging the recent Sniper attention, I still love you. You’re still #1 in my heart! Well, #2 because April is also a Sniper. #1 meta at least? But I do kinda like Narantuya too. Anyway…\n\n  Ray's second Module is a pretty strong damage upgrade over her first, which is her entire value, but it does end up a little more nuanced than a strict upgrade (it's not like her first was bad). Her 2nd gets most of its damage from the extra stacks on repeat hits, so it mainly comes out ahead against larger hard targets. If she's killing most targets in three shots, before her second can take effect, it doesn't have any particular advantage. Her first also has the cycling advantage with her Sandbeast which makes it line up far better with her S3, especially if you're like me and forget to retreat it all the time. That may or may not matter though, depending on if you actually *need* her S3 to cycle that fast, which it often doesn't considering just how fast it is and her role as a dedicated specific target killer rather than a general DPS.\n\n  Ultimately, I'd probably give it a 60:40 split between Y (new) and X (old), maybe 75:25 depending on how you use her. If you do one, it should probably be Y. If you already raised her X and can't afford or don't want to do a second, I wouldn't worry about it. Her second is nice, but her first is still solid, and the difference probably won't matter to you. But if you're a bunny-lover like me, both are worth owning.\n\n**CN - People, A People**\n\nI don’t have a lot of strong opinions on this patch. All three second mods fall into the same category of “better but not better enough, and why are you still using them, let alone justifying a second mod3”. Zima’s mod is boring, and Botani’s mod… well, I do hate writing about Ritualist mods. Of course, check out the lookaheads below if you want my general opinion on these units! I’m only really including this section because I want to briefly write about Ukusik’s!\n\n* **Ukusik** - Our latest child soldier is a pretty good unit. However, as with the other 5★ Chain Medics this patch, her Module is garbage (actually the worst of the three). That might actually be a good thing in this case though, because Ukusik doesn't need her E2 or Masteries either to be effective, meaning her bad Module at least makes her cheap if all you want is a camo slave.\n\n  That sounds really wro","offTopic":false},{"id":"fa860bd1-5e3e-4f4d-9bdc-c611cf52ee03","excerpt":"A Mastery Priority Guide & Should You Pull - The Masses' Travels — # Introduction\n\nHow do you think I'm going to open this article? Is it something about Marksman since they're my favorite archetype? A joke about acute angles? Maybe a food joke with lemon and apple pie? A joke about a new difficult to spell name perhaps? Don't worry that one comes later. Or how about a complaint about powercreep and bad design? No! None of the above. Instead I would like to share with you that Archetto has finally been cleansed of the sins of the past. No, not because of her new IS mod, although that is pretty dope. Rather it's because of her new nun skin. One of my less popular opinions is that Archetto's idol skin is one of the biggest character assassinations in the game. I *loathe* idol slop and Archetto was such a bad choice for it. She even looks like she's in pain in the art. So her new, actually in-character, nun skin is *amazing*. You should buy it.\n\nOh ya, I guess there's some new units and junk to discuss too. New this update is the overhaul for the 4-5★ Guards and all Defenders (Snipers hopefully not long after), plus some general enhancements like a new Glossary. There’s also a big change with the IS grades detailed next.\n\n---\n\n# Guide Announcement!\n\nAfter much deliberation, I've decided to remove the IS grades from the guide going forward. This is largely due to the rising power ceiling. When I first added them, the roster was a lot smaller. Even at lower difficulties, there was still a significant difference in value that warranted differing consideration. However, that isn't particularly true anymore. Even at the highest difficulties, the IS meta tracks pretty close with the general meta (I could write a whole essay on that topic), but the guide doesn't even aim for high difficulty. At the difficulties the guide aims for, the difference is just noise. It also became very difficult to give meaningful advice without turning into a full IS guide (which I have no desire to do and makes Mei mad at me). So the IS grades weren't doing much but giving room to nitpick and making guide maintenance even harder than it already is. In the current game as it is in late 2025, it just makes no difference in most cases.\n\nSo, going forward, most units will have no IS grades. However, there are still some exceptions. Primarily, these are units with IS mods, but there are also units which are significantly more valuable in IS still. So the IS grade isn't being retired completely, and those units will still have IS specific grades.\n\nFurther, the guide is currently in a transitional state while I work through the general guide update (holy crap some of these write-ups are so out of date). To avoid even more inconsistency, the current guide won't have the IS grades removed until they're actually updated.\n\nYou can find a lengthier write-up over on the main guide [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iJF12O6QOba1dlUVmobwvc1eBZE7FRB6-tKxmZEcG1I/edit?gid=1407994735#gid=1407994735) as well as updated definitions for the grades.\n\n---\n\n# Feedback Request\n\nOn the matter of the general guide update, I’m also trialing a new format and I’d love it if I can get some feedback on it. It’s more image heavy so I want to make sure everything looks good and is legible on whatever given device you happen to have. I’m of course always open to general feedback on the update as well!\n\nIf you’re interested in checking it out and sharing some feedback, you can find a related post about it [over on my profile here](https://www.reddit.com/user/TacticalBreakfast/comments/1o2gsir/mastery_guide_update_feedback_corner/). Thanks in advance! \n\n---\n\n# One Last Thing - New Ticket / Paid Pack Value Sheets\n\nOne last thing before we dive in, but starting this patch I’ve also published a new sheet. It’s a side project of mine that I’ve been publishing just as some images on my Twitter, but figured it was time to make it a full sheet. There’s two things in it. One, it summarizes the material values of the various E2 and M3 promotions so you can spend those instant-tickets on the most valuable options. Two, it also does some basic value calculations on the various paid packs available. The information on it won’t be useful for a lot of people. It’s primarily geared towards real money spenders, but spenders who like to get value for their dollar. If that’s you, you can find them [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1knwIQHQXDfmAIEShW3QuybzBh9OerfHsYJgCVVYXqtw/edit?gid=1306541441#gid=1306541441).\n\nNow, finally onto the patch!\n\n---\n\n# Should You Pull?\n\nYes. This is the strongest yes we've had since Wisadel. Exusiai the New Covenant is one of the best units in the game and there is *no* meta or value reason to skip her. Skipping this banner would be entirely because of personal choices, whatever those happen to be. Exu2 is one of those complete package units. She does absurd damage, she sustains, she's cheap, and she has incredible utility, in multiples. About the only knocks against her are the fact her damage is mostly single target or that she lacks control, both of which seem incredibly nitpicky given the rest of her kit. Exu2 is the top Specialist pick in IS (quite the feat looking at her competition) and unlike a lot of other must-pull units, is also a top CC unit.\n\nIf it sounds like I'm glazing her a lot, well, it's because I am. She's just that good. There'll be more of it coming too, but there's a lot of other things to discuss in this patch, so let's move on. Just know that you really really really shouldn't skip this banner unless you know what you're doing.\n\n## Pull Related FAQ\n\n## **Q:**  You didn't say anything about Lemuen. If I get Exu2 first, should I continue pulling for Lemuen?\n\n**A:**  I didn't mention Lemuen above because Exu2's costar could be replaced by Vigil and this would still be a must pull banner. Of course, Lemuen is not Vigil. She's very very good too and adds a lot of value to an already strong banner. However, she's not quite as absurd as Exu2 is. She's one of those pure DPS units. Unlike Exu2 who has a lot packed into her kit, damage is about the only thing Lemuen does. And it is strong damage thanks to an absolutely massive DPH, but pure damage units are much easier to replace and much easier to get powercrept.\n\nThus, the answer to if you should continue to pull for Lemuen if you get Exu2 first is a lot more nuanced. She is a great unit so if you like her (and who doesn't?) there's absolutely no problem with continuing. However, the upcoming stretch is *very* powerful. The unit immediately after this, Tragodia, is as much of a must pull as Exusiai is. In fact, of the next six months of unit, Lemuen is probably the least or second least valuable in terms of content we know about and the easiest to replace. So ultimately, I would probably suggest stopping if you get Exu2 first. Unless you're close to spark already, which we'll get into in a moment. Once you have the big ticket winner, a shared rate-up for a less valuable unit doesn’t look as appealing. Lemuen is just one of those victims of priority where you probably can’t pull for everyone unless you pay, so someone has to get cut.\n\n\n## **Q:**  I've heard Tragodia is more broken. Should I skip Exusiai the New Covenant to pull for Tragodia?\n\n**A:**  Absolutely not. The matter of whether Tragodia or Exusiai the New Covenant is more broken is a rather nuanced one. I could probably write a thousand words or so on the topic if I wanted to. But I don't want to because for our purposes here, it doesn't matter. It's true that both are super duper broken ass good. I'll be glazing Tragodia just as hard next month! However, Exu2 is both first, which means opportunity cost, and limited, which means very limited future chances. Maybe if Tragodia was absurdly better there would be an argument to be made, but as it is he's just \"maybe better if you prioritize different types of content more\". Meta-wise, there is no good reason to skip Exu2 here, even for Tragodia.\n\nSo I say again, don't skip Exusiai the New Covenant unless you know what you're doing.\n\n\n## **Q:**  How many extra pulls should I spend to spark Wisadel? What about other spark targets?\n\n**A:**  The spark discussion on these Celebration banners is getting really complicated. Again, I could probably write a few thousand words on this topic, if not a whole article. There's just too much nuance to get into! Further, not everyone values everything the same. I fully expect to get a lot of different opinions here from the various people I get feedback from. And their opinions aren't wrong either! This is ultimately a complicated topic that you'll have to do some of your own reasoning for.\n\nThat said, I would generally be willing to invest maybe 100 more pulls to grab Wisadel. She is still the best general unit in the game, and if you're just looking for power, that's reasonable I think. But don't feel like you have to. 100 pulls would probably get you at least 1 or 2 (or more) rate-ups ahead of us that will likely have just as much (or more) value. You also have to weigh that against the value of sparking Rosmontis or Skadi2 for 200 instead. Wisadel is of course way way better, but 100 pulls is a lot!\n\nIf you already have Wisadel, I would probably be willing to spend 50-60 to spark Texas the Omertosa. She's not as absurd as she used to be, but is still a great unit overall. But again, taking Rosmontis at 200 for IS is an appealing alternative\n\nIf you are close to 200 and enjoy IS, I would consider around 50 for Rosmontis. Her ISW mod is great and makes her very strong there, but keep in mind she sucks elsewhere still so the suggestion is predicated on how much you like the mode.\n\nI would probably not spend much for anyone else, unless collection matters to you. No one else available is really that absurd anymore, and with the strength ahead of us, that value isn't what it used to be. Not to say they're bad of course, and you'll have to judge the value of a pull vs FOMO vs upcoming for yourself. But it's not as strong of value as it used to be.\n\nIN ANY CASE, IF YOU CHOOSE TO SPARK, AT LEAST WAIT FOR THE LAST DAY! Don’t waste pulls just because you’re impatient.\n\n\n---\n\n# FAQ and Discussion\n\n## **Q:**  Is Exu2 really that good? <Insert stat in isolation> alone doesn't seem that good!\n\n**A:**  Apologies for the slightly glib question here, but I see this sort of thing a distressing amount, where a singular stat with no context is used to wonder why she's considered to be so good. This isn't calling anyone out by the way. I've seen this type of question a dozen times or more and in a lot of cases it's fair to ask too!\n\nAnyway, yes, Exu2 is really that good. Her damage is amazing. She has high DPS, high total damage, and relatively high DPH. Then she has low DP cost, sustain, absurd bulk that she can share, and her redeploy beacon is the absurd sort of utility that it’s unlikely anyone will ever get again. A lot of powercreep these days is in role compression. There's so much packed into a lot of these new kits, so cherry picking one thing misses why these units (not just Exu2) are so damn good.\n\n\n\n## **Q:**  You seem like you want to rant about something. Any controversy this time?\n\n**A:**  Yea sure why not. I didn't bring this up last patch because I had a thematic complaint I'd rather make, but a few comments last time made me think about this anew.\n\nBasically, while I don't care about powercreep really (my complaints are always indirect about things poorly handled), HG has gotten a little lazy with it with some of them, and Exu2 is probably the worst example. They went so out of their way to make her as absurdly busted as possible, and in the process, lost the class identity which ultimately makes her a lot less interesting.\n\nTake for example the Geek buff. I Talk to people, I listen, I form my own opinions about what I hear.  I Can and almost certainly will be wrong.   Civil/Constructive Disagreement is allowed AND Encouraged!\n\nWelcome one and all to Yostar's latest Twist.   Things are getting crazy!!!  We live in interesting times, and while I am more than a little frustrated with their refusal to be predictable, I am actually excited to see how things play out.\n\nWe have 2 banners releasing this week, which is odd!  That, combined with the early Persona5 annoucement, means that everything scheduling wise is in Flux.   We're also getting a 1 week long Score Attack, which suggests a shorter than expected Season?  \n\nThis plays havoc with my predictions about when certain banners might show up, so I can't really offer much advice to people for how they should plan their pulls and quartz.  My main suggestion is that people should be more conservative with their expenditures and save more for the time being.  Meta units could be shifted drastically in the schedule, so having the spare quartz to pull for them if/when they magically show up is good.\n\nBut before I talk about our new banners, there is one little soapbox topic I want to talk about.\n\n# Persona 5\n\nFrom a meta perspective, MOST Players are best off skipping the Persona5 banners.\n\nTsukasa and Ruka ARE both meta for Fire and Dark respectively on JP right now.  But... without going too much into details (Because I'll be saying all this again when those banners get here) Both of them are only a minor upgrade, and honestly they're going to be a DOWNGRADE  unless you do very specific/weird things.   Metawise, they will not offer you 60k quartz worth of increased account power.\n\nThis means that, from a meta perspective, There is no reason to budget for the Persona5 collab.  You can safely spend quartz on other more important memoria that are likely to show up around that time frame.\n\nOf course, if you want those memoria for NON-Meta reasons.... well, you're gonna have to make some sacrifices.   And I've seen enough people excited about the P5 collab to know that a lot of people are going to be making sacrifices.  So allow me to offer you this short guide to what you Can safely Sacrifice in order to acquire more P5 Memoria:\n\nFor Critpen: Do not Sacrifice Unison Wakki or Unison Karen.   Or you will be sad.\n\nFor Elemental teams:  do not sacrifice your elemental Admiral, or you will be sad.\n\nBut you can decide not to pull for basically everything else, and... like... you'll regret it, but you'll be able to get by.  So while I'll probably be recommending a lot of stuff in the coming months, now you can plan to ignore me so that you can pull for Tsukasa in Latex.. or whatever you're into.\n\nAnd with that out of the way, onto the guides!!!\n\n# Vritika\n\n31X Are going to recieve 5 Food memoria over the coming months.  Each one will be a different element, and they all do the same thing.   They are here to make your dungeon/Arts experience TRIVIALLY Easy.   Vri heals all ice Memoria to full HP After every fight.  She replenishes all their limited use Skills after every fight. She even gives you some free SP.  She basically makes you good as new, and lets you just unload with all your strongest skills, perpetually.\n\nDoes she do anything else?   No.   Her SS1EX has a 3 turn ATK Down debuff, which I think is the only atk down debuff that lasts more than 1 turn?  I can't remember any others.   That's neat.  But not really useful.\n\nThe worst thing is, is that her resonance passive is a PARTYWIDE skill use restore.  So if you have her, and use her as support with any ice SSR, you'll get the EX Use recovery.  It won't recover to FULL, mind you, but it'll still probably be enough to let you get by.   This basically makes bringing her ON your team a terrible idea, since you can get most of the benefits just by equipping her as resonance.\n\nShe's cool!   And on JP They're getting a hard dungeon mode Which she may be very important for!  Eventually, one day.   For today?  She's an EASY Skip.   You do not need her, at all.\n\nLate before-post edit:  I've been watching streams of the new JP Dungeon.   You WILL Want LB0 of your element's cooking memoria, for doing the JP Hard mode dungeon.  Just to slap on as resonance.  It's not hard enough to need to run them.   Still skip for today.\n\n# Carole\n\nCarole is, technically speaking, the #1 DPS Option for Thunder right now.  I still don't think you should pull for her.   She takes a lot more actions and is a lot more finnicky to setup than Tezuka.  And she doesn't deal THAT Much more damage.   \n\nYou can keep on running whatever thunder DPS you were already running, and not miss out on anything.  This, to me, makes Carole not worth the 45k quartz.   But, if you're a thunder player who wants to have \"The best of the Best of the best\" (Sir)  Then pull away!!!  Just make sure you leave some in the tank for Admiral Nanami, whenever she may show up.\n\nI mention in the guide that her Common skill kills her, and it doesn't, NECESSARILY, guarantee she dies.   Also she has a master skill that's only usable when broken, so it is synergistic with her kit.  But, it's still 3 turns of \"The boss kills Carole\" and her master skill can only be used once!   It's finnicky and hard to use, and you don't even really GET Anything out of it.  It's cool!!! I encourage people to do amazing memes with it!!!  But It's not meta.\n\nNormally, I'd try to talk more about how to use her for those people who end up getting her anyway, but.. like...  she is a Damage dealer without any real support worth talking about.  Point her at the foe, and hit the \"It dies\" Button.\n\n# Wakki\n\nIf you play Crit pen, you should be pulling for Unison Wakki.   Skipping Wakki will result in sadness.  Why?\n\nSo, the first thing that Wakki has is a Brand New mechanic, called a \"Command Skill.\"   It's not QUITE unique to her, but it's pretty rare going forward.  Essentially it's a button that does not take up a turn, and instantly uses a skill.   In Wakki's case, it's a fairly strong attack, which applies a -100 stat debuff to the enemy.   It doesn't use up buffs, so you can't really use it as your main damage. But it's -100 stat, which is a great alternative to Yuki, especially since Wakki can apply it whenever you want without having to worry about turn ordering.\n\nThe second thing is that Wakki has a common skill that can give out SP and give 1 Unit the Minion buff.  Combined with Bungo's ability to give 3  minion buffs out at once, this lets you make the entire team into minions on turn 1.   This, combined with Wakki's LB4, and Bungo's LB4, will give you 2 full OD Bars from the getgo.    Speaking of passives, Wakki's LB1 and Bungo's LB1 both stack as well, giving all minions +2SP per turn, which is Also super good.\n\nFinally, she has a 0sp EX Skill that can be your main damage dealer.  It's 1xstr/1xdex scaling, meaning that she gets less damage from stats than other units.  So her damage won't be AS large as you'd like.  But the potency is high enough to make that perfectly fine, and she gives herself a single stack of Multi-hit which can make setting her up pretty easy.   It's limited use, which sucks, but its still an option!\n\nShe is a TON of support for Bungo-based critpen teams, and with the -100 stat, allows Bungo to tackle the most difficult of content with an even easier time than she had before.   I mean, you could have been using Unison Yuki before too, I guess, but Yuki provided basically no party support, while Wakki provides a ton of extra SP and OD!\n\nFor dark teams, you primarily only care about the SP Share and the -100 stat.   Using her as a dark damage dealer REQUIRES all 6 party members to be minions.  Which can be a lot of turns/SP to setup.   But it can also work, if you really want to try and compress roles down.  LB4 is HIGHLY Recommended though, due to the stat scaling on her damage dealing skill.   Also the free OD Bar upon all 6 minions.\n\nAlso, important to note, that Wakki is essentially the last important unit for Critpen teams.   No unit on JP Has released that Critpen wants more than what they already have.   Bungo, Karen, Wakki Unison, plus Foxtail Miya, Admiral Yanagi, and an open flex spot to bring whomever you'd like (Ichiko, Kozue, Shiki, there are many options).  So after you pick up Wakki, you do not need to pull again going forward.\n\n# Conclusion\n\nI got distracted watching/reading up on the new JP Dungeon halfway through writing this, so if you find any of it subpar, blame JP for releasing cool new interesting stuff.   On the bright side, I'll know what the deal with that is so I can make recommendations about it in the future.\n\nBut yea, interesting times.  We'll see what banners the future brings.\n\nTo those of you about to pull:  I wish you the best of luck!!!","offTopic":false},{"id":"e9990368-b29f-4de1-b94a-1dbbe291344e","excerpt":"Comprehensive Saber Guide Megathread — ***^(Last updated 04/17/26)***  \nThis guide assumes you understand the basics of HSR’s gameplay loop such as daily farming, what relics are, what the different paths represent in combat, endgame modes, common terms (e0s1, MoC) and etc. **Please refer to the table of contents to na","url":"https://www.reddit.com/r/SaberMainsHSR/comments/1qfxca3/comprehensive_saber_guide_megathread/","role":"demand","weight":1.1254598,"occurredAt":"2026-01-18T03:15:11.000Z","sourceKey":"reddit","sourceName":"Reddit","credibility":0.62,"venue":"SaberMainsHSR","intent":"alternative_search","painScore":0.19729763,"sentiment":0.5445026,"confidence":0.94,"matchedPatterns":["how_can_i","terrible","alternative_to","missing_feature","praise"],"statement":"While I wouldn't suggest pulling Sparkle or her eidolons specifically for Saber, it is a very strong (and sometimes best with e2) alternative to Saber's other action advance supports.","title":"Comprehensive Saber Guide Megathread","body":"***^(Last updated 04/17/26)***  \nThis guide assumes you understand the basics of HSR’s gameplay loop such as daily farming, what relics are, what the different paths represent in combat, endgame modes, common terms (e0s1, MoC) and etc. **Please refer to the table of contents to navigate this guide - it is a long read.** I do not recommend reading the entire guide unless you just pulled Saber or have a lot of free time on your hands, as it likely covers a lot of information you may already know.\n\n# TABLE OF CONTENTS\n\n1. **Introduction**\n2. **Understanding Saber - The Basics**\n   1. Just as an example, Prydwen does not take Saber’s energy regeneration mechanic into account for her signature lightcone, making it appear worse than it really is in their calculations. Please do not take calcs as fact and only use them as a reference.\n\nI can tell you that I am a dedicated Saber Main with way more time into the character than most people and have personally played a majority of her best teams in all endgame encounters since her release. With that being said, **I cannot tell you what is “worth” the investment - because that is entirely dependent on YOUR account and YOUR needs and the situation YOU are facing.** Please keep this in mind that what is best for you may not necessarily be what is best for the Saber Main next to you when commenting on this post.\n\nIt is important to understand that I can only speak based on my experience and own research, and that **this guide should not be considered your only definitive source of information.** Please do your own testing and research, and feel free to ask questions in the comments. I openly invite discussion to make this guide as best as it can be.\n\n**💫 Let’s get into the guide!**  \nIf you were to search for Saber’s best in slot team, you’d see a large variety of answers and debate on the subject.\n\n*“It’s Sunday, Robin, and HuoHuo!”*  \n*“Actually, it’s Sunday, Tribbie, and Dan Heng Permansor Terrae!”*  \n*“Guys… I promise RMC and Cyrene is good for her!”*\n\nNone of these are bad answers, **but it’s important to understand that Saber does not have a true best team** to use in every situation\\*. *There is an exception that typically bypasses this rule which requires some vertical investment. We’ll talk about this later.*\n\nSimilarly to the team options, there are similar discussions about Saber’s relic and planar sets, including what main stats and speed breakpoints she should be running at. We’re going to cover all of that and more in this megathread.\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/0tkzjgkiw0eg1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=950bbf45f57f11c4303abe2dfc4b7b532a1ae47b\n\n# Understanding Saber - The Basics\n\n**💫 When is Saber’s warp banner leaving?**  \nWe do not have a confirmed end date for the Fate Collaboration Warp Event. **ANYTHING you see about the end date is based upon speculation and not fact**. HoYoverse will likely announce the end banner with at least a few weeks of notice, if not a full patch notice. This is not guaranteed. Due to the uncertainty, it is recommended to not pull on the Fate banners until you are certain you have enough pulls to acquire what you are aiming for. Once we have a disclosed date, I will edit this megathread.\n\n**💫 How do I play Saber?**  \nSaber’s combat role is of the traditional “Hypercarry DPS” playstyle. Team comps in this style typically revolve around having multiple supportive units all focus on bolstering the damage of a primary DPS. It is assumed that you understand how these teams operate, and I will only focus on Saber specific mechanics from this point on.\n\nSaber’s primary method of dealing damage is through her ultimate, Excalibur. Our goal is to strike a balance between frequency and amplification to maximize Saber’s efficiency. A common misconception is that Saber requires energy supports such as Sunday, HuoHuo, and Tingyun. This is not necessarily true, as stronger supports can often provide Saber energy in a non direct manner, or even just provide so much amplification that it’s worth the trade off to have less frequent ultimates.\n\nSaber’s skill and enhanced basic attack make up a large portion of damage when combined as well. It is important that this damage is not neglected in terms of buff uptime or wasted opportunities of attack. In combination with these abilities comes Saber’s most important mechanics: **Core Resonance** and **Mana Burst.**\n\n[Saber consuming \\\\\"Core Resonance\\\\\" in battle](https://i.redd.it/49dvil8301eg1.gif)\n\nThese mechanics are Saber’s bread and butter, and understanding how to manipulate them can be the difference between clearing and not clearing an endgame encounter. **Not utilizing them to their full potential results in a massive loss in damage**, and is often why you may see conflicting opinions on Saber’s overall strength. Most often this is due to windows of opportunity that are wasted, such as being able to get a few extra skills off over the course of an encounter via careful resource management - or enhanced basic attacks being wasted due to an extra ultimate being used before Saber is able to use her first enhanced basic attack. This is a lot of potential damage being left on the table if you’re not careful. **Auto battle in particular has no concern about min maxing Saber’s actions.**\n\nIt is impossible for me to guide you via a text guide on how to properly pilot Saber with these mechanics, so I will not attempt to. All I can do is simply make you aware of the mechanics and hope you can pay attention to your rotations during gameplay.[ Here is a good video showcasing a player who pilots Saber well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz1DkylV4VM). It is a high cost showcase, but the point of me sharing this video is so that you can see how the player’s game sense helped him accomplish a 0 cycle in AA with Saber. They prioritized applying wind weakness to the side mobs, and basic attacking with Saber to ensure Cyrene has enough skill points. Even withholding Saber’s ultimate for the right timing. **A poorly piloted Saber in this same scenario would have never survived long enough to clear the fight let alone 0 cycle.**\n\nPractice makes perfect! I recommend watching other high level showcases with Saber to further your understanding of her mechanics. She will perform a lot better once you master her - **auto battle is not kind to Saber!**\n\n**💫 How do I speed tune her?**  \nSaber is commonly ran in two speed tuned configurations: **Base Speed** and **-1 Speed.** \n\n**Base Speed** is accomplished by running attack boots and ignoring speed substats in her relics. You focus fully on damage increases such as Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Atk%. \n\n**-1 Speed** typically involves running speed boots (or having many speed substats while still running Attack boots) to reach the 133.3 speed breakpoint, prioritizing additional actions in the first few cycles. In this scenario, Sunday would be ran at “-1 speed” from whatever Saber’s speed is, but both Saber and Sunday need to be above the threshold. **Easy explanation: Saber at 135 speed, Sunday at 134 speed.**\n\nDuring her release, it was common to suggest running Saber + Sunday with a -1 speed setup. This gave Saber more actions - which converts directly into more energy. However, over time we have seen Saber perform with greater results in a base speed setup and hyperspeed action advancer (160+ speed). This is because **at -1 speed, Saber often takes too many actions in combination with her self action advance** \\- which causes her to lose Sunday’s skill buff due to its two turn buff duration. This is more noticeable at higher investments with Saber, such as her s1, e1, and especially e6.\n\nWhile I won’t say base speed Saber is always the best option, it often will be. If you’re using RMC instead of Sunday, you always play RMC at 160+ speed anyway. I personally have my Saber ready to be played at both base speed and -1 speed setups, but I rarely use the -1 speed build nowadays.\n\nJust to clarify, **there are situations where a higher speed Saber is optimal**. I am not suggesting base speed is best in all scenarios.\n\n**💫 Should I invest in Saber’s signature and/or eidolons?**  \nThis is not a question anyone can answer for you without additional context. I’m going to talk about Saber’s investments under these 3 rules:\n\n1. You like Saber\n2. You are a f2p / light spender\n3. You care about endgame performance\n\nIf you don’t like Saber, then don’t invest beyond what you already have. If you are a whale (high spender) then you’ll probably get what you want regardless. If you don’t participate in endgame content or care about your performance, then it doesn’t matter what you do.\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/eb9osdkiw0eg1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f1c2c0d0a9fb1c5f9cc68c12704a74d4c7a3c1e\n\nSaber’s most efficient investment stopping points are: e0s0, e0s1, and e6s1. In some scenarios, e1s0 can perform better than e0s1, but it’s not something I would personally recommend. Saber’s signature value comes from the unique 10% energy refund which is an **undiluted buff** on top of overall large stat gains - particularly the attack buff which isn’t something Saber inherently has in her own kit or found commonly in her teammates.\n\nSaber does not benefit from vertical investment into herself as much as some other DPS units do in 3.x. Many of us know how much of a game changer Phainon’s e2 is. Saber doesn’t get her “game changer” eidolon until e6. This makes her investment options **comparatively** weak. Her e2 mostly suffers from not having additional sources of def shred / def ignore present in her teams kits. Running something like Silverwolf with Cipher’s signature light cone is one of Saber’s best ways of stacking this amp source, although this typically isn’t the best comp available in most situations.\n\nMy recommendation is for Saber players to pull just a single copy of Saber if you like her, pull her signature if you want to use her in endgame, and MAYBE consider investing further if you want to truly “main” this unit. It’s important to also consider that **once Saber leaves banner, it is very possible she is gone forever.** We cannot predict the future like this though, so **don’t get FOMO’d** into a bad investment decision. After all, it is also possible that the Fate units never receive novaflares too if they don’t have an opportunity to rerun.\n\nTo be clear, clearing endgame content is getting the minimum score threshold required to obtain max rewards from a game mode. E0 Saber might not be 0 cycling often, but she is perfectly capable of clearing content. No one can accurately predict the future, so I won’t try to predict her meta relevance later.\n\n**💫 How good is Saber compared to “insert name here”**  \nSaber isn’t a top meta pick. If that’s what you’re looking for then Saber isn’t the unit for you. (I'll leave this pinned during the maintenance and take it down when she actually drops, mainly just making this to give my analysis for people curious if they should pull or not.)\n\nFor credentials, I'm around \\~Rank 20 global (Stomper, 1.3m score) on Great Rift and spend a lot of time talking to damage-calc people on the Discord and talking about meta. This doesn't mean my word is law by any means, but I'm not just saying things at random without putting thought or data into it.\n\n***Also some limitations:***\n\n1. We currently do not know all of her epiphanies (afaik).\n2. We don't know if there will be new mechanics for the Great Rift boss (that matter for score, rumors suggest draw/move increases damage though)--this could change some team composition aspects since a ravage score mechanic would bump Selena up a lot.\n3. There is a small possibility certain aspects will be adjusted right before she is released.\n4. We also do not know her potentials but we can guess they will be the usual basic upgrade, card upgrade (prob homing laser), and small damage or effect upgrade.\n\n# Sereniel Kit Analysis\n\n|**Card Type**|**Card Name**|**Description**|**Cost**|\n|:-|:-|:-|:-|\n|Basic|Pulse Fire|Deal 100% damage|1|\n|Basic|Pulse Fire|Deal 100% damage|1|\n|Basic|Shield|Shield 100%|1|\n|Starting/Epiphany|Homing Laser|120%dmg, AG2, on ravage = move to hand from grave|0|\n|Signature|Pale Shooting Star|150%dmg, use 3 HL in draw/disc/grave|2|\n|Epiphany|Shining Core|Create 2 Homing Laser-L|1|\n|Epiphany|Plasma Missile|120%dmg, x2 if no ravage, .5tenacity|1|\n|Epiphany|Cobalt Light|120%dmg x 4 (random), 1tenacity per hit|3|\n|Token (Card-Gen)|Homing Laser (HL) L|60%dmg, ex-2, AG1, on ravage = move to hand from grave|0|\n|Effect|***Afterglow (AG)***|1tenacity, +50%dmg if ravage, decreases on use|N/A|\n\nEven without factoring any epiphanies, she can dupe Shining Core 4x to make a total of 8 Homing Laser-L's. This means she has a total of 9 Homing Lasers for a chance at a total of 18 uses of it a turn. This has a condition where you cannot ravage the enemy before using all your Homing Lasers, but her signature 'Pale Shooting Star' can situationally help with this (especially with Nia) since you can use it to proc ravage and also use up to 3 Homing Lasers with one card when enemy is about to be ravaged (if you would've ravaged before using all Homing Lasers). Selena also can help with this immensely since you can proc refund enemy tenacity and proc ravage again to not ruin your combos or inflate your deck (though Selena is dependent on quite a few variables that are hard to test atm).\n\n* ***What does this mean?***\n\nThis means that even without epiphanies, she is a character who is hitting \\~18 tokens (0-costs) per turn quite easily (\\*versus bosses). This is roughly the same amount of tokens Luke with perfect epiphanies and E2+Janet will be hitting (\\~20) and she can do this *without* epiphanies. Epiphanies will surely make her be able to generate more Homing Lasers where her potential for 0-cost attack generation goes up even more, making her likely to be the 2nd-best token generator (behind Tress) and the 2nd-3rd character who reliably uses 0-0-0 over full house. This means she has extremely high potential with Cassius.\n\n# Other cards to note:\n\n***Pale Shooting Star (Signature):*** This card allows her to recover from imperfect turns and helps with certain ravage scenarios as previously mentioned.\n\n***Cobalt Light:*** I've seen an image where it apparently makes 4 Homing Laser-L's per enemy it hits or something (?) if this is true then it will likely be the de facto dupe over shining core (whatever card makes most homing lasers is what you'll probably dupe).\n\n**Homing Laser (Starting, not token (L) version):** Since this one has no exhaust tag, if it is able to ravage off of just 4 of it played (3 dupes) then it enables a pseudo-infinite where you can attack for how many times you can ravage (with Selena max 5-times). This build concept could be better or worse depending on how fast she ravages, enemy type, its epiphanies, and if there are additional ways to restore tenacity added.\n\nOther cards could be good/bad depending on what her epiphanies for them are.\n\n# Team Compositions & Ally Analysis:\n\n1. **Cassius (S-tier, confident)** \\- As mentioned prior, she'll be one of the few 0-0-0 token enablers, arguably the only char besides Tress who will (probably) want to use it over full house always since with epiphanies she will most likely be able to use around \\~30 tokens a turn which without considering other 0-costs will put her at 10 quests, this is higher than the average quests from full house for most teams which is around 6-8. Cassius in 0-0-0 teams also acts as a second dps, often out-damaging his enabler so this is a strong indicator of her meta viability. He also has the highest buff potential in the game on top of his high cycle and damage ability lol **\\*EDIT:** Upon requests, I decided I should add in that Cassius will be nerfed/reworked in the future so the way in which they play together, or if they will, will likely change.\n2. **Selena (B to S-tier, conditional)** \\- Selena was talked about a lot prior to kit release and while she has potential, there are a lot of conditions that make her worse or better. Assuming she doesn't ravage until using all of her Homing Lasers (which isn't far-fetched for boss content like GR) then Selena is not needed since Sereniel uses all of her possible tokens per turn herself; HOWEVER, in situations where Sereniel ravages too fast (depending on rotations, if enemy is instinct, how much her AG contributes, etc.) then Selena will be astronomically higher in value since she will ensure she can use all of her tokens every turn with her ravage refund. If great rift also has a modifier where score increases every time you ravage, Selena will be inherently stronger for farming score since she is only char that enables multiple ravages. TL;DR, Selena could be really good or really mid depending on how fast/slow Sereniel ravages.\n3. **Nia (A to S-tier, confident)** \\- Cass+Nia is pretty much the go-to meta atm for any team that isn't Tressass (Tress+Cass+Mika) since Nia can generate insane amounts of AP off funger (potential higher than Mika) and also enable a ton of draw (8 draw off fungers alone) alongside Cass (who has highest buff potential in the game and enables further cycling). She enables a ton of cycle and search, and with next great rift allegedly having draw buffs, she will be incredibly strong.\n4. Hugo (A-tier, confident) - Fine, he works as a sub-dps really well on any token unit.\n5. Mika (B-tier (not talking about chaos lol), confident) - Fine, she is ap-gen and healing for any unit which is very valuable but if you can get these from other sources (forbidden futil (any draw = heal), forbidden hunger (funger), epiphanies, etc.) then she doesn't offer anything for maximizing damage or cycling. Always the choice for Chaos with any unit atm though (if you want easy clears).\n6. Veronica (A-tier, confident) - A good sub-dps unit search and cycler. She can abuse funger to be an ap-gen support with precision aim as well. Also works as a buffer with Rosaria.\n7. Beryl (B-tier, confident) - Good sub-dps unit and strong draw for one-shots. She falls behind other similar options in support capabilities (Veronica & Nia) for Sereniel and Sereniel doesn't particularly enable Beryl.\n8. Rei (B to A-tier, conditional) - She's a better buffer than Nia or Veronica but has bad deck cycle and decent ap-costs per turn with no ap-gen. She might be preferred for some oneshots but in general Nia, Vero, or Selena will probably be used over her.\n9. ***Edit (added in):*** Chizuru (B-tier, unsure) - By default all hunters/rangers are good with Chizuru because all hunters/rangers + Cass can do a lot of buffing + ap-gen with prec aim + funger, but this doesn't improve Sereniel's damage over other options and what Chizuru contributes likely isn't worth it. Other builds could be ok with her depending on epiphanies, and by default Sereniel will be good at enabling Chizuru because she is a token user (basically = to Luke for SotM). However, both Chizuru and Sereniel have no innate self-draw or ally-draw (very possible Sereniel might with epiphanies though) and overall I would put her as slightly weaker than Luke for enabling Chizuru because of these issues. (For inhibit/bound builds) They also both have decent amount of AP they want to play a turn which has anti-synergy with Chizuru inhibit. Which is my main issue I have recommending them together: Sereniel doesn't actually do anything for Chizuru that makes Chizuru's gimmicks (which are what hold Chizuru back atm) truly better. At best, she's turning the 5AP Chizuru cap per turn on bound/inhibit into 6AP which doesn't truly help with the issue that alternatives that give much more AP (funger, neutral/divine epiphanies, etc.) will typically result in better outcomes in relatively optimized teams over Chizuru bound. However, there is \\*potential\\* in an extremely optimized team (basically everything having -1AP cost divine ep) of Sereniel-Chizuru-Selena where you are getting around +6AP for a total of 11 effective AP a turn)--the issue here is you lack buffs. You could also play Chizuru+Sereniel+Cassius but this team has no special synergy since the current go-to meta team for Chizuru atm is Chizuru+Any Hunter / Ranger + Cassius where you remove bound.\n10. Everything else (D to C-tier, unsure) - Possible I'm missing another synergy that is especially good, but most other units have antisynergy or are vastly outclassed by the above options.\n\n**Team Concepts:**\n\n* ***Likely Meta:***\n\n**Sereniel+Cassius+Nia** (With season 1 having funger, this will likely be the highest buff + draw + AP comp in her ideal scenario).\n\n\\--Team would work by Nia generating AP and deck cycle for early turns then just playing full deck every turn with tons of tokens and quest procs from Sereniel + cassius. Even if Sereniel ravages too fast, this team will enable easy recovery from imperfect homing laser gen.\n\n**Sereniel+Cassius+Selena** (Depending on how fast she ravages and if great rift benefits ravaging multiple times)\n\n\\--Team would basically just be Sereniel + Cassius and using Selena for the ravage restoration card. If Sere ravages too fast, then Selena will likely be necessary for maximizing damage over Nia. Since Selena is a hunter she can take precision aims and act as a budget Nia for ap-gen with funger as well.\n\n* ***Other teams:***\n\nHugo+Sereniel+Mika\n\n\\--Should be amazing for clearing chaos, works like Hugo+Tress+Mika but less dependent on Mika heals for card-gen.\n\nSereniel+Cassius+Supp-flex\n\n\\--Most supports can work in the flex slot with Sereniel+Cassius, some will likely just be better than others\n\nSereniel+Selena+Hunter/Ranger-Flex\n\n\\--Fun triple hunter/ranger team, these aren't new team ideas but from Sereniel's sheer output and self-sustainability it'll be an improvement over many options. Selena will probably be the preferred one over other hunter/rangers from synergy but Vero/Hugo and other options might perform better in this team specifically because of low buffs.\n\nSereniel+Beryl+Rei\n\n\\--Functional and easy to build oneshot team for basin-like content.\n\nSereniel+Selena+Flex\n\n\\--IF Selena feels necessary because of ravaging too fast, this would be the go-to for ensuring you can re-ravage.\n\n***Edit (added in):*** Chizuru+Sereniel+Cassius/Rei\n\n\\--Cass for most content, Rei is easier for oneshot. You basically just do the same variation Chizuru teams already run with Chizuru+Ranger/Hunter+Cass and remove Chizuru bound + put precision aims & funger on Sereniel for AP. It will certainly be one of Chizuru's stronger teams (basically = to Luke + Chizuru) but will be one of Sereniel's \\","offTopic":false},{"id":"e5601fc8-774a-4d0a-8208-b86ae15a2a75","excerpt":"Prydwen: GR Tierlist, Great-Rift Mechanics Guide, & Arabella Guide Update — # [Great-Rift Tierlist](https://www.prydwen.gg/chaos-zero-nightmare/tier-list)\n\n*Because of rather massive balance changes to GR this patch, I'm pretty interested in community feedback. Should we just abolish GR Tierlist? Should we cut units from GR who lack data completely? Let me know. In the process of some big changes to CZN's Pryd side (including Team DB + Tierlist, Sortie Page, text-overhaul, among other things) so if it's feedback we get soon then should be able to get it changed all at once* 🙏*.*\n\nRead Changelog but:  \n\n\n* Vanguard only needs to be completed once the entire GR patch, we're now weighting Vanguard much lighter than previously (as there are no good metrics that matter like clear-speed anymore). This means no unit who isn't used on Rearguard can be above T1. This also means that units who we lack data on might change in placement if people show they are solid in Rearguard for just clearing fast.\n* They made a change which makes it so the most impactful thing to score is just choosing Arabella + Hilde. Even if you do very low damage, you can get much higher scores much easier than any other unit (and mathematically cannot be surpassed at the top-end even if the other teams do more damage). This makes Tier-0 much easier, I suppose, since now there is no argument for anything T0 besides Arabella + Hilde from their presence alone because of passive buffs. HOWEVER, this does make tiering harder for everyone else because the lack of incentive to play anything else means we lack any data for other options or people even willing to test or try new things. Right now, T1 for damage is basically just 'can they get the weekly score necessary in 1-turn of damage or easily get within the high-ish range for probably low masters in global (which tends to be less competitive).\n* **Much interesting rankings are Support**, since we still have 1 slot open for Support. However, there is a discrepancy which is that the 2 top Supports for 3rd currently (Tiphera & ADHD) both require extra investment (Tiana or E4 ADHD) to be superior to other options. Currently, Prydwen does not support multiple Ego's of the same unit for tiering on CZN, but it's something we're looking into adding.\n   * Assuming no Tiana or E4 ADHD, the 3rd slot basically doesn't matter much with higher tiers being units who can draw more or give more AP. Cassius can Draw 5 off one card this rift & has good AP builds (because of access to AP neutral on DT comparable to dedicated AP units), Narja & Mika both give enough AP to play your Hilde + Arabella decks, etc. Because Hilde can act as a Draw unit (most people are just using her for Draw in GR atm, not focusing on her damage much at all), Draw is less valuable than AP (which you need a lot of to play maxed out Hilde AND Arabella decks fully) so Nia & Veronica are played a lot less (Nia is also hurt a lot by Seasonlock more or less returning, so she can no longer abuse Funger like she could to keep her relevant during Tenebria's rift for example).\n\n# [Great Rift Guide](https://www.prydwen.gg/chaos-zero-nightmare/guides/great-rift-aavarck)\n\n[Shoutout to Vyke, really sad that this will be his last GR Guide as he decided to quit this patch \\(alongside Aco & others\\). Hope they return some day!](https://preview.redd.it/fcgh89xtarkh1.png?width=1712&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c384e42ce1943330a13e24a1839e152f280f787)\n\nFirst Great Rift Guide got onto site relatively on-time, unfortunately, it will probably be last in this format as the person who primarily makes these Guides decided to quit, not unrelated to the GR changes that took place.\n\n**Key Mechanic Notes:**\n\n* To push score you basically cannot use non-seasonal decks and are forced to use Arabella & Hilde. If you just care about Masters, dropping a seasonal deck or Arabella/Hilde is probably completely viable, especially in Global as it's a less competitive region and a lot of people in it who usually rank quite high probably won't be participating in it.\n* Reversed Food Chain (killing an add) gives up to 200% mult buff, this means Arabella actually has 300% DoT damage increase this rift (similar to how Tenebria's GR had 100% Basic Attack buff but a hidden buff on boss itself that gave an additional +900% to her for a total of 1000%). This means, it's also really important to kill the adds early to stack it up ideally turn-1.\n* There seems to be a funky or bugged interaction with Arabella where she is able to instantly get 30 stacks of Fracture from end-of-turn detonate. Odds are this won't be fixed because a bug that makes the current Banner unit better is probably seen as a positive (and also would require clearing a lot of current scores in fairness which would make people outraged). Shoutout to [Capylyric](https://www.youtube.com/@Capylyric/videos) & BoundLessOak for the discovery.\n\n[screenshot from ongoing tests, led by @BoundLessOak and Capylyric ](https://preview.redd.it/dlkdobfqorkh1.png?width=822&format=png&auto=webp&s=13631d25f2ddd8eec6d4a63518f539cb7799aff1)\n\nBecause the most key mechanic this rift is basically that you're forced to play Hilde + Arabella together (if you want to raise your score), the most important thing to keep in mind is what playstyle you want to use and build around that. If you plan to have Hilde do damage, as well, then you will likely need more Draw (as main forms of increasing Hilde damage this rift (Fracture Arrow) comes at the cost of her ability to Draw)--but odds are you'll probably end up following more mainstream builds which use the Draw 2 skills + mythic draw to use Hilde as the primary draw, this then means that Hilde will likely cost you \\~2-3 AP. If not using cost-reduction on all Arabella cards, odds are Arabella will cost you around 4-8AP a turn, so you'll likely want a heavy AP support like Tiphera, Mika, or Narja as your 3rd. There already exists quite a few variations of these deck concepts on the leaderboard you can view at [cznmetadecks](https://cznmetadecks.com/meta) and emulate or build upon for your own strategy.\n\n# [Arabella Guide](https://www.prydwen.gg/chaos-zero-nightmare/characters/arabella) Updates\n\nArabella's page on Prydwen is updated to now include other decks people are playing, mainly AoE variant and cost-reduction variations of her popular decks.\n\nAlso added in Orlea as a synergy & to the teams, since although it is extremely difficult to use (Sacred Censer is either extremely expensive or extremely bricky), Orlea's Sacred Censer deck is basically Arabella's highest cap for Tower (which is the main Save Data mode we have currently). This is because Orlea can save Sorties for Wave 5 (only high HP wave) & then manually use them for even more activations and higher buffs than she would normally do turn-to-turn. Playing Orlea basically forces you into a cost-reduction Arabella build, though, so keep that in mind.\n\nAnd while this team is arguably Arabella's best (since its best for the main Save Data mode), it's hard to say if the team is good enough to justify either of them rising in the Tierlist. Orlea being not particularly relevant in any other teams and not much of an upgrade over alternatives, even in this one, outside of Tower makes the argument hard for her to move up but if people feel strongly about this then be sure to let me know.\n\n# Future Changes\n\nI know I've hyped up a big overhaul / changes coming soon for a while, but they're actually coming soonTM fr this time as we've just starting to put them into action / drafting phases.\n\n**Some changes include:**\n\n\\- Mini Ratings (the Performance Profile) being standardized / revamped. Both supports & DPS ratings will use a standardized 'AP Efficiency + Draw Efficiency' instead of current criteria that is less clear)\n\n\\- Reducing A LOT (and I mean A LOT) of text. \n\n[The current tabs on chars will be renamed to the above](https://preview.redd.it/828cvfvtkrkh1.png?width=1467&format=png&auto=webp&s=e95838968a180643435e84a20a622de221491308)\n\n\\- Review section will lose most of its text. & a lot of it will be moved to other sections.\n\n\\- Deck & Teams will be placed before the others since it's probably more important to most people.\n\n\\- Gear will be renamed to Build.\n\n[just a placeholder concept](https://preview.redd.it/4lzwbxdalrkh1.png?width=441&format=png&auto=webp&s=153f17c36984a17727ef573f91c5205c026b2de8)\n\n\\- More zone/seasonal information / separation will be shown, we're specifically looking at ways to emphasize BiS zone (Swamp lol) alongside currently Seasonal zone, with keeping a record of previous seasonal zones if people want to farm them for fun. Key thing here is just a separation of them and not the current equipment recommendation which lumps them together in order to give more clear information to guide farming for people. Similar changes are also being looked at for Guides.\n\n[another placeholder concept, will most likely change from this iteration to look similar to other team databases](https://preview.redd.it/ie0lucznlrkh1.png?width=509&format=png&auto=webp&s=9041c07346edf2e95becc126e76236d2f0d188ae)\n\n\\- A lot of stuff planned with teams. Mainly a team tierlist but also have plans for a team database (will likely include different teams that aren't necessarily ranked in Tierlist (to not overbloat it) & other stuff 👀)\n\n\\--\n\n& A lot more! There's like 20 pages of planned changes we have for CZN on Pryd (granted there's a lot of images on these pages) and the ultimate goal is to get it all done before the Anniversary and have the foundation to maintain CZN on Prydwen for a long time with higher accuracy and less effort (because it's a very small team), so I hope that people are willing to give it a chance once the changes are all done. 🙏 ","offTopic":false}],"breakdown":[{"sourceKey":"reddit","sourceName":"Reddit","count":9}],"total":9}}
