When I say it pops up every time I mean every single time you open the app.  Even if I go look at a note for a split second and close the app before the video starts, it will actually start playing the video in the background.  You cannot close the video out, you have to wait for the video to end before you can close it out.  This is terrible when I’m in a meeting trying to make notes or look up notes.  I can’t tell you how embarrassing and frustrating this is. Next thing that happens is that I am “at my limit” for notebooks (by no means do I have very many, in fact they can all be displayed on 1 screen…) and would need to subscribe to the several hundred dollar version to add more notebooks.  Also now it keeps blocking me from accessing my info saying it can only be accessed on “3 devices”.  I have an iPhone, iPad, desktop and they count their website as one.  They also limit you from making changes to approved devices.  So my Evernote subscription is now pretty worthless……after paying them their $20 for the next 12 months. I find it hard to believe that the non-corporate customers are not a profitable group for evernote in addition to the more expansive plans. Now, we have to put up with an obnoxious ad! I still preferred what I had with Evernote (and again, I was a super user, using in all day long, every day. I had thousands of notes. Thousands of notes I would lose if I didn’t get the email address changed. I panicked and spend an entire night batching them into my (free) Notes account. I managed to save almost everything. For free. That was a few years ago and they may have fixed the email change problem, but it was so precarious to almost lose everything just for that….never again. And don’t even get me started on how  all the subscription models are like being pecked to death by a duck financially. Just no. Do I miss Evernote from time to time, when I wistfully see it as an option? Yes.
